“This Momma just cried in the middle of Target. We were at Target waiting on Grammi and we found some dinosaurs. Owen grabbed all 3 and we were trying to pick out which one he wanted when Owen abruptly yelled ‘HI’ at this older man walking past us.
He turned around and said ‘hey sweet boy’ he proceeded to play dinosaurs with Owen. With this crazy world we live in I was a little hesitant as to how close he was with Owen. The man got his wallet out and pulled $20 out, he put it in Owens pocket on his shirt and said ‘I just lost my 2 year old grandson last week. You take this money and buy this boy all three dinosaurs’ and rubbed Owens back, wiped his tears and walked off.
After Owen yelled ‘thank you’ the gentleman turned around and yelled boomer sooner! There is still some good in this world!”

My parents have been married for 34 years. My mom is in the final stages of young onset dementia (diagnosed 5 years ago at 53). My dad cares for her full-time. She doesn’t always remember his name but she knows she is safe with him. If that’s not true love, I don’t know what is."

An old, blind Marine wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake.
He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels.
After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, 'Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?'
The bar immediately falls absolutely silent.
In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says,
'Before you tell that joke I think it is only fair, given that you are blind, that you should know five things:
The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat.
The bouncer is a blonde girl.
I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate.
The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter.
The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.
Now, think about it seriously, do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?'
The blind Marine thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, 'No...not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times.

Zach Galifianakis Paid Old Homeless Woman's Rent for Decades & Spent Time with Her as She Lost Her Family
When Zach Galifianakis met Marie "Mimi" Haist, she was volunteering in a laundromat, surviving off tips left by customers. She was only allowed to sleep between the washers and dryers so customers couldn't see her.
Haist revealed that she became homeless after her divorce and had been on the streets for decades. Even though Galifianakis was an unknown comedian at the time, he found a comfortable apartment for her and paid her rent.
Galifianakis became a Hollywood star after filming alongside Bradley Cooper in the "Hangover" movie trilogy. However, his fame didn't affect his heart, and he remained down-to-earth.
He maintained a strong bond with Haist and even walked a red carpet with her as his date.
"If he's in town, he takes me ... I dress up nice, and a friend helps me with my makeup. It's fun, not something I've ever dreamed I'd experience. The limo takes me home afterward," revealed Haist.
Their friendship lasted nearly 27 years until she died at 96 years old.

Sometimes, all we hear are the bad things young people do but not the good. I needed some good news today.
“I drive a school bus and have a 6 grader who I would like to talk about.
Last week he was talking about an elderly neighbor not leaving her house for weeks. I tried to explain how hard it could be for her to do things. On Tuesday I pulled up and he wasn't at the stop waiting. I looked over and saw him shoveling her porch. I was early so I waited for him. The other kids asked why I waited. I said anyone helping someone deserves a few extra minutes. All the kids started asking him questions about his neighbor. The next day 7 children got on the bus with blankets, food and cards for the elderly woman. I delivered them after worked. Now everyday she stands on the porch and the whole bus waves good morning. I am so proud of him for stepping up and doing the right thing. He taught all the children something important. I smile with pride in my heart because of the extraordinary children I have on my bus.”

”Last night, while waiting to board our plane, Carter Jean was being her usual inquisitive self wanting to meet and say “hi” to everyone she could, until she walked up on this man.
He reached out and asked if she wanted to sit with him.
He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks.
This wasn’t a short little exchange, this was 45 minutes.
Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends.
This is the world I want for her.
In a country that is so deeply divided by beliefs, I want her life to be filled with moments like this... not liberal or conservative republican or democrat, socialist or capitalist, just HUMAN.
Joseph from Samsungus in Oklahoma, if this should happen to find you.
Thank you for showing my daughter what kindness and compassion looks like.
Continue to shine your light in the world.”

"Today I was at The Dollar Tree and I saw a woman with three carts full of toiletries. The people behind her were getting annoyed with how long she was taking. After about 10 minutes I asked her what she was doing. She said she was making care packages to send back to people in Kenya. After hearing her story I decided to give her $20 towards her purchase. All I asked in return was that she take a picture with me to show my third grade students the importance of random acts of kindness. I hope my students will one day do their own random act of kindness."

I debated posting this picture but considering that today many of us are gonna be thankful for what we have and are gonna be spending it with those we love, eating very yummy food, I changed my mind. I didn't know my boyfriend had captured this moment. A couple of day's ago we went to eat late at night
and as we waited for our order i saw this homeless lady walk in asking people that were throwing away there leftovers if she could have them. Not one person said yes, they all ignored her and threw it away it broke my heart...I have been volunteering with the homeless now for many years... they don't repulse me or make me sick to my stomach. I hold them all with so much love. So I told Fred if I see her before we are done eating I will give her my food. I looked for her as we were getting ready to leave and couldn't find her.....I felt sad knowing all the rejection she had that night searching for a warm meal. As I was gonna throw away my one leftover chicken strip and like 5 fries I heard a very quite voice ask me if I had anything left. I turned around and it was her..l gave her my food and watched her sit and eat it.....but something didn't feel right...I felt like a horrible human being feeding her my leftover chicken strip..she deserved so much more...so I bought her a whole meal..she deserved to eat a hot meal. When I ordered the meal I asked the employee for a huge favor to please do not kick her out as we waited...I could already see the disgust on people's faces as she sat at the table eating the leftovers I had given her....news flash people not all homeless people smell like roses. She was getting ready to get up and leave when I surprised her with this meal....the look on her face said it all...I have never felt something like this...pure, real gratitude. That hug she gave me was like a hug I had never felt....those tears she shed were felt deep in my heart...I held her tight and let her let it out. I wasn't repulsed by it....I just held her. And that is a moment I will never ever forget. So next time u judge a homeless person think twice...not all of them are homeless because of a drug addiction or because they are lazy.

18 year-old Cristian Felix walks 6 miles to and from work at a fast food restaurant in Pheonix, Arizona. Due to the late hours of his shift, there are no buses running and he does not drive a car.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Natalie Simonick was patrolling the area one night and noticed Felix was out very late walking around. She pulled over for a curfew check to see if he was underage.
Says the officer: “It’s really not a safe area, there were no residential homes or businesses. It was kind of desolate out there so I asked if he wanted a ride and he said sure,” “I asked him if he ever had a bicycle, because that’s a little safer than walking.”
Felix told the officer he has never ridden a bike before. The officer was quite impressed with his initiative that she decided to give him his first bike. She had an extra bike at home and talked with her husband about teaching the young man how to ride.
She said: “We brought him to the precinct and we taught him how to ride in the parking lot”.
Well not only did they give him his first bike, but they bought him a bike lock, a light, and a helmet.

"I've seen this guy at Starbucks in Marin City several times. Every time I’d see him I'd tell myself that I would take him to lunch but always found an excuse not to. Today was different. It might have been selfish but I was lonely. I didn't want to spend the whole day alone. I walked up to him, put my hand on his shoulder and said 'do you want to have lunch with me?'
Tarec Atkinson was born and raised in Jamaica. When he was a kid, he dreamt of being a famous football (soccer) player. He was recruited to play in school but never got the opportunity because of some trouble he got in as a teenager. He moved to the states 8 years ago and has spent the last 12 months living in a tent by the side of the freeway. Tarec goes days without eating, sometimes living off of the berries he picks, he spends 90% of his time alone and has no friends and no family in the states. After hearing it had been a month since he bathed, I brought him back to my apartment so he could enjoy a hot shower. Because of all these hardships, trying to get a job is impossible. How can you fill out an application when you haven't eaten in days? I told Tarec that I would drive around with him next week and help him fill out applications and even speak on his behalf to help him land a job so he can get back on his feet. We agreed to meet that Friday at 9:30 AM at Starbucks.
If we were going to make this happen, I knew we had to get Tarec some new clothes. We stopped at Ross so he could pick out a shirt and some slacks. I was blown away at the immediate change in his demeanor. His smile was radiant, he stood up straighter, and even walked with a swagger. I couldn’t convince him to tuck in his shirt. I guess you win some and you lose some haha. Next step was to hit the streets. We spent the next two days going door to door to see who was hiring. We went to Walgreens, CVS, Safeway, Home Depot, Molly Stones, and Starbucks just to name a few. I would walk in with him so he knew he wasn’t alone. It can be overwhelming to walk into a business and ask for a job. I was very proud of him. We had a few positive responses but the majority of business’s told us that applications were submitted online. Easy enough right? Wrong.
Tarec doesn’t have a computer. So we went to the local library and began filling out applications. And let me tell you something. We take our computer literacy for granted. Watching him struggle to fill out an application put so much into perspective for me. Some people judge our homeless. We’ve all heard someone say 'why don’t they just get a job?' or 'they’re lazy' I saw firsthand how the “system” is set up to fail people like Tarec. There is no way he would have been able to do any of this without my help. Just like there are many things in my life I have needed someone to help me overcome an obstacle. We all need a little help.
After week of phone interviews Tarec landed an in person interview at Safeway. I remember driving to Safeway being nervous. I looked over to him and asked how he was feeling. He looked back at me and said “I got this”. I believed him. I dropped him off, wished him luck and waited. 20 minutes later, I see him walk out of Safeway with a big smile and a thumbs up. I let out a Rick Flair sounding “WOO!”. We had accomplished a lot together in two weeks. It was an incredible moment. Obviously we had to celebrate with a little ice cream! 🙂
Like we all are, Tarec is searching for a purpose in life. He yearns for happiness. He craves for a woman to love and to feel the love from a woman. He wants to create a better life for himself so he could one day have a family and stability. He is just like you and me. My hope in sharing this story is that it will inspire others to spread LOVE. We all need help in one way or another. Sometimes all someone needs is a friend. Thank you for taking the time to read my story."

In the wild plains and forests, elephants roam, their large frames casting shadows over the land. These gentle giants carry something truly extraordinary within them: memories, deep and unbreakable.
An elephant herd is like a family bound not only by blood but by a shared history. The matriarch, often the oldest and wisest female, leads them. She remembers every path, every watering hole, and every place they’ve found safety. These memories aren’t just for herself; they’re for the young ones, who will one day lead the herd too. And when tragedy strikes and a member of the herd passes away, elephants never forget. They return to the spot years later, their trunks gently touching the bones of their lost loved one, as if to say, “We remember you. You are still with us.”
Elephants feel deeply. They grieve, shed tears, and even comfort each other, wrapping their trunks around a family member in distress. When one of their own falls, they pause, standing in silent vigil. They don’t move on until each has said goodbye.
In the world of elephants, love and memory are inseparable. Their hearts are as large as their bodies, filled with the memories of every friend, family member, and journey they've taken. And so, as they roam, they carry the weight of history and the warmth of family, a reminder that we are never truly alone as long as someone remembers us.

A Letter from an Elderly Woman in a Nursing Home
I am 82 years old. I have four children, eleven grandchildren, and two precious great-grandchildren. And yet, here I am, in a small room, only twelve square meters, in a nursing home. Just me, alone, with my memories.
I no longer have my own home, where each corner once echoed with love and laughter. Here, I have someone who cleans my room, prepares my meals, makes my bed, and measures my blood pressure. I am grateful for their care, but I miss the warmth that only family brings.
I miss the laughter of my grandchildren, the little footsteps that used to rush into my arms. I used to know their favorite stories, their favorite cookies, the way they looked when they were happy or sad. Now, I watch them grow through a few scattered visits. Some come every two weeks, some every few months, and some
I haven’t seen in years. My heart aches as I wonder if they still remember the warmth of my hug or the stories I used to tell.
I no longer bake cakes or dig in the garden. I once loved those small joys, the smell of fresh cake filling the house, my hands in the earth, nurturing life. I still try to read sometimes, but my eyes get tired so quickly now. My body is slowing down, reminding me each day that time is passing. I don’t know how much longer I have, but I know I must learn to live with this loneliness.
In this home, I try to keep busy. I lead group activities and help the others here who feel as alone as I do. I used to read aloud to the woman in the room next to me, who couldn’t move on her own. We’d sing songs together—songs from our childhood that made us feel young again. Last week, she left us, and now her room is empty too. The silence echoes, and it’s hard to bear.
They say life is longer now. But I wonder
what is life without family beside you? I hold onto the few things I brought with me: photographs of my family, small pieces of my old home. I look at those pictures every night and hold them close to my heart, as if that can fill the emptiness around me. These memories, faded but precious, are all I have left.
I hope that the next generation understands that family is meant to be together, through every season of life. I hope they remember their parents and grandparents, who once held them, nurtured them, and loved them with everything they had. Please don’t let us fade away, lost in our small rooms, waiting for one more hug, one more visit.
Please, don’t show this to my children.

"Why am I posting a selfie with a coffee cup and a peace sign? Well, I'd like to share something with you. This morning I was driving my car, when a gentleman cut me off and gave me the finger! This surprised me because I was unaware WHY he did this. My thoughts are because he didn't use his turn signal, so it was unexpected....he also shouted 'As***le' to me. Lol.
Anyways, I saw he pulled into the Starbucks. Well, I thought, here's my chance to tell him what I think of his poor manners and disrespect. I went in to find him, and I couldn't. So I went to buy myself a coffee, he then comes in line, from the bathroom. I turned around to tell him that it's his lucky day! 'What could I buy you? My treat!'
He looked at me almost stunned.
'Really?' He said.
After buying him the drink, I told him that I was the guy he "flipped off" earlier.
'Man, I'm so sorry.' He said. 'I'm just super stressed.' I told him that it's all good! We talked for a bit and later we found out that his turn signal is actually burnt out! Lol.
So, why am I sharing this? Because we tend to celebrate people getting revenge, or "getting what they deserve." My question is, when does it end? When does the fighting and anger stop? It's only when PEACE makes its way in and overcomes.
Remember, everyone may be going through something that you know nothing about."

11/03/2024

"The week ahead is a big one, but instead of me talking about it, I decided to post a picture of these bananas. Here's why:
A few days ago, we were headed to our daughter's last cross-country meet. She likes to eat a banana before she runs, but forgot her banana back at her school. She asked if we could stop at the store to get one.
My husband, Scott, went to the store, ran in, and picked up a couple of bananas. He took them to the cashier, who said he owed the store exactly 53 cents.
Scott opened his wallet, but he had only a credit card and a large bill the cashier didn't want to break. Scott said he would run out to the car to get some change from me, but the cashier said, 'Nope. It's okay. I've got this.'
Then she reached into her pocket and pulled out exactly 53 cents in change.
And Scott walked out with the paid-for bananas.
Here's why this story is important this week. There are kind and compassionate people everywhere. Even if they don't vote like you. Worship like you. Live like you. Behave like you.
I know 53 cents doesn't seem like that big of a deal. But she could have just rolled her eyes at my husband, clenched her jaw, and demanded he get the change.
But she didn't. She reached into her own pocket.
Maybe you think I'm a simple-minded person, or overly optimistic, but I think when it comes down to it, being good to one another is what's going to keep us all moving forward in times like these.
Every act of kindness, every smile, every kind word. There is no act too small as we share this place called Planet Earth.
There's a good chance people in our neighborhoods, our churches, our workplaces, and even our own families won't vote exactly like we do. We have a choice on how we move forward this week -- with kindness or with hatred.
I will choose kindness."

When you leave your dog at a shelter because he didn’t meet your expectations, because he’s “too much work,” or simply because you moved on

He sits in the corner, quiet, staring at the door, waiting for you to return. He doesn’t bark, he doesn’t cry. He just waits. In his mind, any minute now, he’ll hear your voice, see your smile, and he’ll be in your arms again.
Days turn to weeks, and yet he waits, unable to believe you’re truly gone. He remembers the sound of your laugh, the feel of your hand on his fur, the love he thought would last forever.
Dogs don’t understand broken promises — they only know loyalty.
Think before you decide to let go. To him, you were never just an owner. You were his world, his forever.

When you decide to leave your dog behind because he’s getting old, because he needs more care than before, or because he moves a little slower now

He doesn’t know what’s happening as you walk away. He doesn’t understand why you won’t look back.
So he waits, his old eyes searching, his tired legs trembling as he stands by the door, thinking maybe any minute you’ll come back to him. A day goes by. Then another. He curls up on the cold floor, still hoping.
He doesn’t know he was left behind. He only knows he loves you.
He gave you his best years; please don’t abandon him in his final ones.

When you take your dog to the shelter, maybe because he’s grown bigger than you expected, or because he chewed up the couch, or you just don’t have time for him anymore

He looks at you with those wide, trusting eyes, not understanding why you’re walking away. His tail wags, slowly, hopefully. He watches every person who passes by, thinking maybe this time, it’ll be you.
A day goes by. Then a week. He starts to feel the ache of missing you, but he still waits. He waits with every beat of his heart, wondering when he’ll feel your hand on his head again, hear your voice saying his name.
He doesn’t know what he did wrong. He doesn’t know you’re not coming back.
All he knows is love for you. In his world, you are everything.
Please remember, a dog isn’t just a pet; he’s a soul who trusts you with his whole heart. Don’t give him up just because life gets hard. He would never give up on you.

As I was pulling into work, I was following this car. The sign in the back window says, “Learning stick sorry for any delay.”
Knowing this information, I was very patient with their slow shifting, and honestly they were doing pretty well for still learning. Then I asked myself a tough question: Would I have been just as patient if the sign hadn’t been there? I can almost definitely say no.
We don’t know what someone is going through. We don’t wear signs that illustrate our personal struggles. You don’t see signs taped to people’s shirts that say, “Going through a divorce”, or “Lost a child”, or “Feeling depressed”, or “Diagnosed with cancer”.
If we could read visually what those around us are going through we would definitely be nicer. But we shouldn’t have to see signs and have reasons to treat strangers with kindness. We should do it anyway, whether we know what is going on or not. Whether they deserve it or not.
Let’s give everyone an extra dose of patience, kindness, and love. And have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

"Vinegar and milk! Homemade cheese in 10 minutes! Recipe from my Italian grandma
Cheese making might sound like a complex task reserved for artisans, but with just two simple ingredients—vinegar and milk—you can create fresh, delicious cheese at home in under ten minutes! Not only is this method quick and easy, but it’s also signficantly cheaper than buying cheese from the store. Here’s how you can enjoy the satisfaction of making your own cheese with the bonus of keeping your budget in check.
Gather Your Ingredients:
- 1 liter of whole milk (the fresher, the better)
- 2 tablespoons of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
Ensure the milk is not ultra-pasteurized, as this type can affect the cheese-making process.
2. Heat the Milk:
Pour the milk into a large pot and slowly heat it on the stove. You want to bring the milk to just before boiling, around 190°F (88°C). It’s important to heat the milk gently to avoid burning. Stir occasionally to ensure even heating.
3. Add the Vinegar:
Once the milk is hot, remove the pot from the heat and gently stir in the vinegar. The acidity of the vinegar will cause the milk to curdle. Let this mixture sit for a couple of minutes as the curds (solid) and whey (liquid) separate.
4. Strain the Curds:
Line a colander with a clean cheesecloth or a fine linen towel and place it over a bowl. Pour the curdled milk through the lined colander to catch the curds. The liquid whey can be saved for other recipes, like smoothies or baking.
5. Press and Season:
Once you’ve strained out the whey, you can press the curds gently to remove any excess liquid. At this point, you can add a pinch of salt or any other seasonings you like. Pressing for a longer period will result in a firmer cheese.
6. Enjoy Your Cheese!
Your homemade cheese is ready to eat immediately! It’s delicious sprad on crackers, crumbled over salads, or simply enjoyed on its own.
Benefits of Homemade Cheese:
- Cost-Effective: Making your own cheese can be significantly cheaper than buying it at the store.
- Fresh and Natural: You control the ingredients, ensuring no unnecessary additives or preservatives.
- Customizable: Experiment with different types of vinegar, mix in herbs or spices, and create a cheese that suits your taste perfectly.
This quick and easy cheese-making method proves that delicious, fresh cheese is just a few minutes away. Give it a try and enjoy the creamy, tangy flavors of your homemade creation!"

My grandma wanted to eat at Bill Miller Bar-B-Q today and as we were about to sit down I noticed this guy counting his change and then started to cry. I couldn't help but to order a meal for him and tell him not to worry about counting his change. Told him to put them away and to enjoy his meal. I told him I know how it feels not to have enough money and to stay strong. He asked me what he can do for me and I simply said "Don't give up and keep God in your life." I share this story with you all because I believe that we all can make a difference if we try. I share this because I hope it can inspire others to do the same. Funny thing is I looked at my receipt and the total price was $17.04. That's my mothers birthdate backwards - 4/17 and it's a beautiful sign. She would always say, "sharing is caring"... I miss that woman! Stay blessed my friends and share the love!!

Picked out a cake at Meijer. Asked a bakery-looking employee if she could write on it for me. She said she would, and after a long time, she came and presented me with this cake. I looked her In the eye and said thank you before I even looked at the cake. After looking, I nervously laughed and headed to check out it didn't really matter to me that it looked so bad- I thought people would think it was funny. The cashiers at the self-checkout didn't think it was so funny though, and called a few more cashiers and a manager over to look, even taking pictures. To my surprise, after they discussed it, one cashier put her arm on my shoulder and said "The girl who wrote that has Autism. Thank you for smiling and thanking her- even though she's not supposed to write on cakes, you probably made her day." So I guess the moral of the story is that kindness is important.

"So at my daughter's birthday dinner a little girl about 3-4 yrs old saw my daughter walk in the restaurant. While we are all just enjoying the moment the little girl runs down to where my daughter was, looks and smiles real big then runs back to her mom and dad. Shortly after, the daughter come back being carried by her dad and her head is buried in his neck. The dad taps my daughter on the shoulder and says, 'My daughter thinks you are a real princess and wants to give you a hug.' â˜ș👑. My daughter say yes and the little girl gives her the biggest hug. This brought the room to tears and cheers. They take a couple of pics and the little girls waves goodbye with her parents.
That little girl saw just a "princess" not a black one or white one but simply a princess. Kids don't have hate in them; they are taught it."

“This is my dad. I’m 33 weeks pregnant, on my own, with a 5 year old. He helped me move today, all day, without complaining once. He raised me on his own after he fought for me and won full custody when I was just a baby.
There has never been anyone who I have ever been able to count on like I can count on him. I haven’t always made the best choices, but still he has always had my back. His love is unconditional and I am so proud to be his daughter. If I can be half the parent that he has been then I have succeeded.”
