Adoption Weekend at PetSmart Cambridge!

We will be at PetSmart Cambridge March 28 to March 30.

✔️Friday 6pm-9pm
✔️Saturday 9am - 8pm
✔️Sunday 10am - 3pm

We have wonderful adults and an older kitten looking for their furever homes. Come meet the wonderful kitties and adoptions can be completed onsite.

And of course we will have all our wonderful volunteer handmade goodies including cat toys, plushies, tote bags, stickers, magnets and cat blankets.

🐱 They groom each other – A sign of trust and affection.
🐾 They sleep together – Always curled up next to each other for comfort.
🎭 They mimic each other’s behavior – One cat’s action often leads to the other following.
💬 They communicate through body language – Watch for synchronized tails, head bumps, and purring.
💔 They get anxious when separated – Crying, pacing, or distress when apart means they need each other.

Meet Cassie 💕

Cassie has a beautiful grey coat. She’s quiet and shy. Her easy-going personality lets her get along with all the other cats. Her favourite spot is in the window watching the world go by.

She started life as a feral cat and was brought in when she was a year old. As she lives with an elderly senior, she will need time to adjust to a new home. Cassie is spayed and all her shots are up to date.

She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Adoption fee: $200

If you are interested in adopting please apply here: Due to living with an elderly senior she is not yet completely socialized. It took five days to socialize her brother and she should come around as quickly.

Meet Patches 🐱💕

Patches is a sweet, gentle cat with calico coloured fur. She as born in the spring of 2018 and began her life as a feral cat.

She is a very clever kitty. We took her first set of kittens to a cat rescue, and she made sure we looked after her second batch of kittens. When they were old enough to come out of the shed, she made a bed of dried leaves right beside the deck steps and nursed and groomed them right there. We put a box out for the kittens and when they were all in the box, we scooped them up and brought them inside and Patches followed us in with the kittens. That was the beginning of Patches being an indoor cat.

She is very motherly and grooms the other cats in the house. Patches has a very gently nature but at times quietly rules the house. Since she lives with an elderly senior, she will be shy at first.

Patches has been spayed and all her shots are up to date and is micrchipped.

Meet Katie 🐈‍⬛🥰

Katie was born early August 2023 to a sweet feral mother. Her mother disappeared when she was 2 months old and luckily two older feral cats looked after her.

Somehow Katie broke her tail, and it fell off when she was about 4 months old.

With help from the cat rescue, we tried to catch her to get her help, but she outsmarted us every time. She somehow survived this serious injury, and I managed to catch her when she was 6 months old. She is spayed and stayed inside due to a cold snap.

Katie was very shy and hid a lot in the first few months she was inside. Katie has come a long way. She is quieter than Maddie but is also curious and playful. Katie is a lover of treats and lets me pet her while she eats. She is so cute with her 3-inch tail.

Since she lives with an elderly senior, she will need more time to be completely socialized.

She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is ear tipped.

Meet Blackie 🐈‍⬛❤️

Blackie is very black. She has a lovely personality and is very curious and she likes to know what is going on.

She started her life as feral cat and was brought inside when she was a year old. Her favourite spot is in the bedroom window where she can watch what is happening outside.

She gets along well with the other cats but enjoys being by herself a lot. Blackie will come downstairs, bat a toy around, work on destroying the scratching toy and then return upstairs.

As she lives with an elderly senior, she will need some time to adjust to a new home. She prefers a home without children. Blackie is spayed and her shots are up to date and microchipped.

Meet Maddie 🐈‍⬛💜

Meet Coco & Aqua - A Bonded Pair 🐱💕

About Coco & Aqua:
These siblings are 8 years old and lived together their whole lives.

Coco and Aqua are back up for adoption, at no fault of their own. They and their adopter's cats and dogs just couldn't get along. Their adopter tried very hard, for a year to make it work! But it proved too stressful for everyone involved and she made the hard and sad decision to return them back to CHCR. Because of this, they need to be adopted into a home with no other cats or dogs.

Our new foster mom says this:

“Hi. my name is Coconut, Coco for short. I am a beautiful brown striped Tabby, three to four years old. My foster mom says that I am very calm, affectionate and I purr a lot when she pats me. I am currently on weight loss food, trying to slim down a bit. I love to sit on her lap or cuddle up on the couch with my lovely sister Aqua.

Aqua is a very beautiful silver Tabby with different colored strips all over her body. Aqua is very affectionate and loves to sit on your lap to be patted. We are very bonded as we like to groom each other and take catnaps together on the couch.

We are looking to find our forever home where we will be safe, loved and cared for. Our foster mom says we are such good kitties.”

Both are spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Upon returning to CHCR they had senior bloodwork completed and both are in great shape, just the need for some diet food.
