We want to share a heartwarming story about a courageous rescue named Titus. His journey began when he and his littermates were found abandoned on the side of the road. Fortunately, they were rescued and given a second chance. Titus was later adopted by John and Cassandra, who, along with their children, welcomed him into a loving home.

As Titus grew, his extreme fearfulness became more apparent. Titus had already been reactive to people, animals, and anything he was unsure of, and he was even fearful of leaving the house for a walk. His anxiety was compounded when their older dog passed away, leading to increased fear and stress. The introduction of a new puppy, Harley, was intended to bring joy and companionship to Titus. However, Titus’s fear extended even to Harley, resulting in aggressive behavior.

John and Cassandra, concerned for both Titus and Harley, sought help from Core K9. Through structured training sessions focused on positive reinforcement and obedience, Titus began to build a positive association with Harley. John and Cassandra’s commitment to Titus’s well-being and their diligent work in training have led to remarkable progress.

Today, Titus and Harley are best friends, spending their days playing and cuddling together. Although Titus still faces challenges with new stimuli, John and Cassandra are adept at guiding him through his fears. We commend John and Cassandra for their dedication and perseverance in helping Titus overcome his struggles.

🐾 Meet Jack and Walter! 🐾

We’re thrilled to share the heartwarming progress of Jack and Walter, two beloved dogs whose journeys with Core K9 have been truly inspiring.

Jack, a sensitive soul, initially struggled with reactivity issues exacerbated by improper training methods with an e-collar. Despite the challenges, his owners, Nick and Michelle, sought our help with patience and determination. Through dedicated efforts and positive reinforcement techniques, Jack has made incredible strides. He’s regained his confidence on walks, showing significant improvement in his reactivity towards other dogs. Nick and Michelle can now enjoy walks with Jack again, confidently managing any reactive moments and redirecting his focus. We commend them for their unwavering commitment to Jack’s well-being.

On the other paw, we have Walter, the gentle giant Saint Bernard. Walter’s main challenge was structure and routine. With a little guidance (and a lot of treats!), Walter has transformed into a delightful companion. His friendly demeanor now charms the entire neighborhood during walks, spreading joy wherever he goes.

This little cutie is Valentine. She is Core K9’s newest puppy graduate. This past Valentine’s Day she became an addition to a very loving and caring family. She is an excited, happy puppy who is always ready to play! Valentine has just completed her puppy course and will be taking huge strides into the big world. We are excited to continue guiding Valentine and her family through the next stages of her life.

It's with great pleasure that we'd like to congratulate Jeff and Shannon on all their success with their 2 Beagle puppies. Jeff and Shannon first contacted Core K9 for guidance with their 7 month old puppies. Most clients know how overwhelming a young puppy can be, and I credit Jeff and Shannon for raising 2 at the same time. We helped them with crate training, house manners and obedience. When we started with Jeff and Shannon, their puppies were pulling on walks, always had their nose to the ground (typical of the breed). They would jump on everyone they met and would clear food off tables and counter tops. They are still puppies and will make mistakes, but Jeff and Shannon now have full control of every situation and through patience and consistency they will have much success with their puppies. Congratulations to Dean, Tina and their furry little friend Aussie for completing our 6 week private lessons! Dean and Tina first contacted Core with concerns of Aussie reacting to people, dogs, cars, busses etc. Aussie was very nervous and and thought the world was out to get him. We first worked on his obedience and then started to expose him to different stimulus around the city. He no longer reacts on his walks. He is still a little insecure at times but quickly becomes more confident as the walk progresses. Dean and Tina have done a great job and will continue to build confidence in Aussie. It was a pleasure to work with you, any concerns you have moving forward we will always support you!
