We're getting busy back in Ontario again! 6 horses trained up, qualified and ready to go!

On Friday, Job Hunter made her first Ontario appearance for the Hunt Stable after a long summer in Minnesota.

Like the absolute pro she is, Job Hunter gave us exactly what we asked her for in her first start in over a month; finishing a strong 3rd in the big leagues.

Here at the Hunt Stables we are obviously health and performance minded, and podcast obsessed. We've recently stumbled onto Dr. Andy Galpin's new podcast, PERFORM.

Dr. Galpin is a tenured, full professor at Cal State Fullerton and Director of the Centre for Sport Performance. We first found Dr. Galpin when he was featured on The Huberman Lab podcast where both Dr. Galpin and Dr. Huberman are on a mission to "enhance the human condition by providing the world with free and entertaining health, human performance, and nutrition education." We think you can trust the science being thrown around here.

Certainly if you also condition race horses there will be lots of science that you already know and hopefully, much more that you don't.

Today we're sharing Episode 1, HOW AND WHY TO STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART & CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS. It's a great topic to begin with because heart health is existential to all of us from everyday civilian, all the way up to race horse.

There are many other pertinent episodes from this podcast like, EP. 5 on Lactate or EP. 8 on interpreting blood results. For now, we'd like to see if there is anyone out there who dives into PERFORM with us.

Happy Father's Day to the one and only champion sire in our stable. Without Pat the stable wouldn't exist or compete as well as it does!

He is a fantastic role-model and leader. We could not be where we are today without him!

Despite the picture, no, he is not (yet) in a wheelchair 😂. Just always occupying a chair wherever he is!

Happy Father's Day to all the Father's in horse racing as well. Many of us in the industry inherited it from our patriarchs and I don't think we'd have it any other way!

Last Tuesday Job Hunter won her first start for the Hunt barn in very impressive fashion.

She races again tonight, Wednesday June 4, in the 4th race at 8:00pm CST,
9:00pm EST.

Good morning and Happy Sunday dear friends & family!

We are back online!

Some of you may not know that Jeff and 3 fillies took off to Minnesota a little over a week ago to race the summer away at Running Aces Casino, Hotel & Racetrack. Since their departure basically EVERYTHING has gone awry.

From the horses being prevented to enter the track for 3 days, to multiple licencing failure, certified cheques being rejected, a phone gone caput and multiple poor steers; the trip has resembled a comedy of errors more than a glorious adventure. However, there is always ONE thing they can count on, Premier Delight.

Our stable captain, who would certainly wear the "C" on her jersey if she had one, went out and showed her class in her first start south of the border. Drawing the 2-hole, getting away 3rd, tipping first-over and never looking back at her competition, she forced the track photographer to take her picture. Though it only took one race -less than 2 minutes- to get the job done, she took longer than that to get to the winner's circle 😂.

We have taken abuse from arguably our #1 fan, (Aunt) Sharon Ervine, for not updating her and everyone else so far. We apologize, Aunt Sharon! And are looking forward to showing you the beautiful facilities and people who move the needle here at Running Aces. As well as the continued ongoings of the stable in Ontario. Pat remains in Ontario with 3 horses of his own, all 3 of which will be back on track and racing in just a few short weeks.

We thank you for your continued support. We love that there are people out there who genuinely want to see what we're up to. We thank all of the horses, staff and owners for their hard work and support. And we thank Yvonne for making it all possible.

.. Names will be fun and may include a lot of words like, "sass" or "ass". All of which we're here for 😜.

Big thank you goes to Jen Armstrong for delivering the baby boy for us. Both mother and foal are happy, healthy and eating after.

Looking forward to keeping you posted on this guy AND the rest of our breeding stock going forward. We have more than one family jewel brood mare on the go, who actually has a racehorse in the barn AND a yearling son as well.
