Before & After Dental Procedure! 📸
Dental health is a very important part of your pet’s overall health! 🦷
Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian for early signs of problems and to keep your pet’s mouth healthy.
Have your pet’s teeth checked sooner if you observe any of the following problems:
✨Bad breath
✨Broken or loose teeth
✨Extra teeth or retained baby teeth
✨Teeth that are discolored or covered in tartar
✨Abnormal chewing, drooling, or dropping food from the mouth
✨Reduced appetite or refusal to eat
✨Pain in or around the mouth
✨Bleeding from the mouth
✨Swelling in the areas surrounding the mouth
Did you know that oral hygiene is just as important for pets as it is for humans? Poor dental health can lead to tooth decay, gum disease, and even heart or kidney problems. This Pet Dental Health Month, prioritize your pet's teeth by:
1️⃣ Brushing their teeth regularly (check out our how-to video: tinyurl.com/5afvpkaf).
2️⃣ Schedule annual veterinary checkups to catch issues early.
3️⃣ Speak to your vet about the benefits of a proper dental cleaning, which should be performed under anesthesia by a veterinarian to reduce your pet's pain and stress, provide an opportunity for a full examination of the mouth and tonsils, and to allow for a professional cleaning under the gum line, which is where dental disease develops.
Let’s keep those tails wagging with healthy smiles! 😁

Valentine’s Day can be as much fun for pets as it is for humans—as long as dangerous items are kept out of paws’ reach!

Caregivers should offer cats ample mental and physical stimulation. Your cat needs opportunities to hunt, stalk, and engage in natural, instinctive behaviors. For more suggestions on Cat Friendly play, visit https://bit.ly/3DaipRg.

Dr. Kathy Hrinivich & Dr. Neil Kennedy opened their hearts and their doors of Animal Hospital of Cambridge in 2004. We started with only 6 staff members and today in 2018 we have grown to nearly 60 team members. It’s a big work family full of people who are passionate about the level of care our AAHA accredited hospital provides.
The biggest complement we feel is when our clients refer their own family and friends to us. We pride ourselves on being open 7 days a week 8am to 10pm providing extensive hours of service to care for your pet. We offer a wide array of services like regular routine pet care (vaccines, examinations, digital x-ray, dental cleanings, spaying and neutering) to daytime emergency care (orthopaedics, TPLO repair, PU surgery, Exploratory, C-Sections, +more) to professional pet grooming. One stop shop ! While we know pet care does not come cheap no matter where you go - we will work with pet parents to decide what treatment options will work for their budget. We have also added in Fairstone; a no payment, 0% interest for 3 months O.A.C payment plan option should owners need a little wiggle room to provide their pet with veterinary care.
It is very rewarding providing care to the rescued pets in the Safe & Sound Rescue Project - Veterinarian’s Giving Back. When they arrive sick or injured, our staff works hard to get them better, often volunteering their time until the pet has recovered and finds a new forever home. We love getting updated from the newly adopted pets new family because it makes it all worth while.
We believe pet insurance saves lives and do our best to inform our clients on how insurance can save them money and help to give peace of mind should an unexpected injury or illness pop up. Please be sure to ask us about VIP Pet Insurance next time your in!
Pet Health Packages are available to help you budget pet care throughout the year. Click here for more details !
Finally, we are big on pet nutrition. “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”-Hippocrates. There are a lot of misleading marketing strategies, commercials and pet food trends out there... be sure to trust your veterinarian for nutritional advise. We can discuss why available nutrients vs ingredients is important to your pets diet. Many ailments can be improved with proper nutrition and some supplements.
