Does your dog have an emergency recall? Having not only a solid recall but also one used when it's serious/an emergency, can save your dogs life.
We as west coast natives know how easy it is to stumble across wildlife un expectedly. Having a way to recall your dog away from a Bear/ elk/ moose, ect is when having an emergency recall can be a life saver for your dog.

The is an example of what is possible with teaching proper manners with high value objects. Just like children dogs don't have to share everything but they do have to have skills to say no politely. We work to teach dogs how to set boundaries and teach humans how to understand your dogs boundaries. We also teach you what to do if someone or something isn't respecting your dogs boundaries.
The dog showed through body language that he wanted to just play solo for a minute. The other two dogs wanted to keep playing as a group. The lab understand the body language and left him alone. The little one kept pushing trying to get him to play. That is when I stepped in to have him respect what the other dog asked for politely. Small correction and all 3 are back to playing and being happy.

This last few days where very big for this big handsome boy. He is a rescue with a hard start to his life. He has been with his new family a few months and has came so far. We worked on his trust of new human/males while staying with us for a couple night. He also made a new puppy playmates. He is only a 1 year 4 months and already doing great. Can't wait to see how far he will go with his training

So Parker has been with us for 3 days. He has been working hard learn new ways of dealing with his big emotions.
Parker has made 3 new human male friends which is huge for him. 2 of them he didn't even growl at them and set them pet him. The other he growled but was giving kisses and getting pets with in 5 minutes.
This little boy still has a long way but we are so proud of him for how hard he is trying to be a well behaved boy

Thursday was a very big day for one of the dogs we have been training. When we first met bowie he was very dog reactive. After 7 months of hard work on his family and his part he has came so far. With the help of healthy hounds adventure he was Able to put all his hard work to the test and did amazing. Running off leash with 19 other dogs. We are so very proud of this boy.

Social skills is something that we find very miss understand in the dog world. Everyone things the goal is to have a dog that loves every person and every dog it meets.
We believe the real goal should be for them to be able to have the skills to appropriately show their dislike for a situation but still trust you to advocate for your puppy and handle any problems that may arise.
No human is best friends and likes every person and animal they come in to contact so why do we expect our dogs to. They just need to be polite and listen to you.

These sweethearts where loving the snowy walk.we worked on some recall and leash awareness skills. We have been working on the dogs realizing that the leash has dropped. The dogs then stop and look at owner awaiting further instructions.
This skill is very useful for the type of weather we currently have, incase you slip and fall. We strongly recommend that all our clients learn this skill because you never know when you could need it.

When salting your walk ways please make sure you are using animal safe road salt if your dog is going to be walking on it.
