Hello friends!
I would just like to take a minute to show you that I do more than just Farrier work on a daily basis. As we all know with any equine service, horsemanship is a huge part of our daily life.
It doesn’t matter how good you are at providing your service, if you are lacking horsemanship you’re going to have some difficulties.
In between running a full farrier clientele, I also work on clients horses!
The videos below are Yearling Tb from C&H Duggan Farms. They hired me to spend time with these babies, as thoroughbred babies can be the most free spirited, highly energetic and fearless creatures that ever walked on the face of the earth. They can also be really hard to understand and read and if they are not handled correctly, it can be massive chaos.
I usually spend two weeks playing with these babies and within the two weeks, I like to see them being able to lead, pick their feet for the Farrier, tie and trailer load.
There is something about working with Tb babies, their drive and willing to learn is unreal. There is nothing more pure and satisfying than moulding the mind of these young equine athletes-but thread lightly, they can and will make you quite humble very fast .
I started these babies 9 days ago, they had almost 0 handling and and I am very impressed with how they’re coming.
Grillin some shoes for tomorrow
