UPDATE SATURDAY MARCH 9th - last seen Friday March 8th in Wilmot, Berwick.
News from Nikki Marie our specialist dog tracker:
“Lost dogs can travel far and wide. Some go on an adventure, some are scared off( fireworks, thunder etc) Auzzie was in an altercation with another dog and fled. It is imperative lost dogs find their "safe zone"so the dog feels safe to stay in that area. We do not disrupt that safe zone. Once we lock down on that missing dog, we move in with a plan. Right now, we are asking the public to check behind their barns, sheds, under decks etc frequently. We ask for property and business owners to check their surveillance cameras often. Pay attention to signs Auzzie may have been visiting. ( prints, barking, your own pets behaviour if he/ she becomes alarmed something is lurking around)
Lost dogs that are in flight mode do not want to been seen by people. They think of three things (food, shelter and water). Auzzie will need some help getting back home.
How can the public help? Be attentive to any signs Auzzie may have been around and call it in. If you see him, note location and direction he is heading towards. Try to take a picture if possible. Do not holler, clap, whistle, yell or chase. Doing this will push him out of area. If you are in close proximity, get down to the ground and gently try to lure him in with food. Do not look at him straight on as this is a predatory move for dogs in flight mode. Keep him in your peripheral vision while trying to lure him in.
There has been sightings called in. We are
following each and every one of them. We ask the general public to please take a picture if you see Auzzie and contact the numbers immediately via phone or text.
Dogs have impeccable survival skills. We have been on cases with dogs out for weeks, months and up to a year to then being secured.
We ask the public to continue to pay attention for Auzzie and call the numbers right away if you have any information. Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions. Thank you so much for your concern and willingness to help Auzzie and his humans. It takes a village ❤️”
Thank you too from myself and Anne Baker (Aussie’s mom), for all the friends and strangers who are supporting us and the fight to bring Aussie home. We can do this!! ❤️
