Restoring antique stoves can be fun and satisfying. An acceptable inItial condition and having all the parts is a good prerequisite. Unfortunately, I picked up a pot belly and have been restoring it for weeks without having all the pieces. Unlike Home Comfort ranges where parts are readily available, I had no idea where to find what I needed or even who made the stove. This week, the stove I was searching for to harvest parts from showed up on Marketplace. After a 360 mile road trip, I now have the trim I need and know the stove is a Thorne-Windsor, a name I’d never heard of. Back to work.

Love our masonry heater. Burns very clean and hot, and releases the heat v-e-r-y slowly. At the moment, the temperature outside is somewhere between 5 degrees C at night and 10 degrees in the afternoon. One fire every two days keeps the indoor temperature between 21-23 degrees C.
This one fire burns the amount of wood you see in the basket on the heated bench.
Once it starts freezing we may switch to one fire every day.
I fire in the morning. Usually there is about 10 minutes smoke from the chimney. After that, the fire burns so hot there is no smoke. About one hour flames, one hour glow and then i close the chimney and have two days warmth!
Last winter we went through no more than 3.5 cubic metres of firewood, the winter before we used 4 cubic metres. Google tells me that is about one cord a year.

Good day, I just found this stove.
Vintage mid Century modern (1960) Frigidaire Flare stove/ oven/ cabinet with pull out burners.
This amazing piece of vintage kitchen nostalgia made her debut in some movies and TV shows like Bewitched where Samantha made magic from her range top!

Hi! I’m hoping for some help…
My house came with this 1950s GE oven. The oven has stopped working, and after 6 years we’ve decided just to sell it because while it looks amazing it SUCKS to cook with.
We’re trying to decide if it would be worth it to have it fixed before selling…but I’m having a hard time determining worth. I really can’t find any for sale.
I’m wondering what you all would pay (working/not working), do you have an idea of worth? Do you know where I can look?

(The element is new, it caught on fire a while ago and we replaced it)

EDIT TO ADD. I am specifically looking for ideas for above the stove. I use these utensils every day, I use the oils every day, I cook all three meals. I do not want to move anything in my kitchen, I just want ideas for how to store these things above the stove. I cannot put anything to the right of the stove, I do use my standing mixer once a week, I like where everything is, I just want to be able to quickly access my cooking utensils, and oils.
I NEED IDEAS
I want to get all of my kitchen STUFF off the burner. I have a weird Lay-out kitchen and the top is rounded, so I can’t easily put a shelf there.
I can’t screw anything into the walls either. Don’t ask. Haha

Just put black bricks up behind the stove in my tiny kitchen. They are not grouted yet. I want black/dark grey grout but everyone says they like the white.
What say you? Also the lower cabinet doors are still being painted so that’s why some are missing. The uppers are staying white. We will add black hardware to the cabinets.
