Happy Monday! It's time to meet our fosters.

First up is Miss. Pikachu. Pikachu is a 3 year old female hound who can be a little shy at first but once she gets to know you, she will be right by your side, or even on your lap wanting to be loved. Pikachu is amazing with all dogs, big or small. She's very social and loves to play with humans and other dogs. Pikachu can be a bit of a fussy eater but she enjoys wet food on her kibble and of course, she loves treats. Pikachu is an easy going gal with a beautiful personality who is looking for her fur-ever home. Pikachu does well very well while going for car rides, she sits in the backseat like a quiet little princess. Are you interested in opening up your heart and home for this girl?

Jane is a 18 months German Shepherd who can be vocal when meeting new people. If you just ignore her and give her time, she will warm right up to you. Since being at Victoria's Canine Paradise, Jane has improved with her dog social skills and has made many different furry and human friends. Jane will need to continue with her leash manners but she is improving with little steps and with guidance. Jane loves to learn new things and is very adventurous who needs regular exercise. She loves going for car rides, especially if she's going somewhere fun. Jane is very attached to her crate for sleeping and when it comes to meal times. Do you think you know someone who would be a good match for Jane or are you a good match for Jane?

Sweet Sam, isn't available for adoption and is still being rehabilitated.
Meet Sam, a 7 year old Australian Shepherd. Sam isn't up for adoption yet as he's still being assessed and has started his rehabilitated here at Victoria's Canine Paradise. Sam's time was running out at the pound so Valley Animal Rescue and Victoria's Canine Paradise teamed up once again to rescue this boy from being euthanized. Sam has alot of anxiety, even though he's making great progress he's not up for adoption yet. While we are still getting to know Sam and are rehabilitating him, we are very hopeful he will be up for adoption in the next couple of weeks. Sam is very people friendly but we are working on his dog socialization skills. Sam can be dog reactive but he has made alot of progress in such a short time. Sam just arrived on Sunday from the pound and he's improving every minute. We will let you know when Sam will be ready for adoption. Wow! How gorgeous is this boy?!
Meet Mr. Rambo, a Mountain Cur/Terrier mix. He's just over a year, so Rambo is a very excitable boy who has so much loyalty and love to offer. When Rambo first arrived, he would jump on humans and mouth their hands out of pure excitement (not aggression), since he's such a smart boy, we were able to break that habit with some minor training. He is best suited for someone who is willing to continue his training and who is energetic. He's a little puppy stuck in a bit dogs body, so he will need some guidance on how to continue to stay calm in exciting moments. He's currently learning how to be walked on a leash and he's doing very well with it. Rambo loves to learn new things and he's very smart which makes the guidance training easy to do. Rambo is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is crate trained. If you are looking to add some humour into your life, that's filled with adventures, this is your boy. Buster is a young boxer mix who is 2 -3 years old and has a lot of muscle, which means he can pull on the leash. He is currently being walked on an easy harness and that has helped wonders. Buster has that permanent puppy face; such a cute boy. Buster is good with other dogs, but he sometimes can be very playful in the face with the other dog. Keep in mind some dogs are ok with this type of play and some are not. Even with that cute face of his, he will still need some minor guidance for a short time. Buster has some independency which can make off leash training a little harder but as he is spending more time with people, he is learning very quickly that people provide love and support. Buster is crate trained and up to date on all vaccinations. If you are looking for a dog to brush up on your basic training skills, this is your boy. He has so much love to offer to a family. Valley Animal Rescue and Victoria’s Canine Paradise teamed up to help get Pico out of the pound. Pico, unfortunately, did not have a good life prior to us helping him. He was very mistreated and is now dealing with health conditions as a result. Pico has neurological defects on one side of his body which throws his balance off and, of course, makes it harder to go up and down stairs. Happily, one step at a time, he is improving. Pico will need some treatment and guidance to be able to live life to his fullest. Pico has an incredibly sad backstory, and he is only 17 months old, but he doesn’t let that stop him from thriving. Pico will need his training to continue so he can understand how to be a balanced dog as he did not have the opportunity prior to being enrolled in Victoria’s Canine Paradise Training Program. Pico would be best suited to a home with a fenced yard. Pico will need a lot of help from the public, if you are wanting to adopt/foster Pico or if you have any questions, you can contact Valley Animal Rescue by email ([email protected]). If you are not able to adopt or foster Pico, we would appreciate any donations, big or small, to Valley Animal Rescue to help this young boy.

It's meet out fosters day!

Mr. BuckBuck (Bucky) is a young German Shepherd/Lab mix who loves to go for walks/hikes, car rides to somewhere fun, and enjoys relaxing on his bed after some exercise. When Bucky gets excited, he sometimes forgets his manners and likes to jump on people. He would be heartbroken if he knocked over a young child by mistake, so he is best suited for a home with older kids or no kids. When Bucky first arrived at Victoria’s Canine Paradise, he had a lot of separation anxiety, so he is best suited not to be in a crate. Bucky has an extremely high prey drive, so it is best that he is not in a home with small animals. Bucky was neutered in mid-February which has improved his social skills with other dogs but he still learning how to be social with other dogs. Bucky is a smart boy who likes to learn new things, which makes him a good adventure companion for someone who likes to explore new things. His is looking for someone who is willing to be patient and continue with his training. Bucky is up to date on all vaccinations. Meet our fosters! Through out the day, we are going to post our fosters that are looking for their Fur-ever homes.

Ivy is a 3 year old female Siberian Husky! Ivy was found wandering the streets while learning how to find food for herself. She was brought to a shelter where her time was quickly running out. So, Valley Animal Rescue and Victoria’s Canine Paradise teamed up to help this beautiful girl. Ivy is ALWAYS up for an adventure with her humans. She really enjoys going for leashed runs/walks/hikes, cross country skiing, going on camping trips, cruising around in the car, and belly rubs. Ivy loves a structured type of lifestyle. She has received a lot of training at Victoria’s Canine Paradise and is doing very well with her progress, so it is important to find a home that can keep up with her training. She would be best suited as the only animal in the home with adults only, so she can focus on her training with no distractions. Ivy is dog selective but if the introduction is done correctly, she can get along with them. Ivy is crate trained which is a good place to feed her meals as she has had an issue with resource guarding in the past. If you or someone you know is looking for a dog to partake in an active lifestyle, this is the girl to consider. Merry Christmas! We hope everyone had a great day! It's definitely abit of an unusual Christmas due to covid. As I'm sure everyone is missing making many memories with their extended family and friends, so we thought we would extend our Christmas photos till tomorrow. TOY DRIVE TIME!
It's hard to believe with this warm weather that we have been enjoying, Christmas is just around the corner. Peter Porteous from All Purpose Towing has a Toy Drive every year to help local children celebrate Christmas by accepting toy donations and cash donations. We have had alot of success in the past years helping with the Toy Drive but let's make this year the best. We are accepting toy donations and cash donations for the Toy Drive, which Peter Porteous from All Purpose Towing will match all donations. What a great way to help local children and our community! We have a toy donation box where you can drop off your unwrapped toy donations and a cash drop off box for cash donations. When you make a toy donation or cash donation, please follow the instructions on the sign by our toy donation box that's located outside of the facility. Let's put some much needed smiles on the childrens faces! Toy Drive runs till November 30th. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Hi guys my name is Milou. I'm a four year old Golden Retriever mix who is now enjoying the laid back lifestyle. I'm now doing very well with meeting new dogs and I love people. I'm a very independent boy who will look for attention now and again, but I won't intrude on your "you" time. I'm very respectful, even though I sometimes like to jump on gates but, I'm learning to keep my four paws on the floor and ground. I'm a very gentle soul who even gives soft, delicate kisses! I absolutely love cruising around in a car with my partner next to me. Just take a look deep into my eyes and you will fall in love with me. Hello everyone! We hope everyone has been staying safe during this very difficult time. As everyone is going throw their own struggles during COVID, small local businesses are really struggling. During this time, it's a reminder how important it is to support small local businesses and how much they appreciate your business. As things are slowly getting back to some what normal and some are starting to go out more, I would recommend checking out Under Pressure Coffee Shop. This coffee shop is like no other, the atmospheres feels like you are at home enjoying a coffee and a treat. The staff is very friendly and they also can help with your sweat tooth. Cara Lewis ( Wiser and Digger's Mom) is very passionate about her coffee shop and it shows by all of the unique treats and drinks she has to offer, how she displays the coffee shop, how it feels like home, even though I have a very big sweet tooth, the best part Under Pressure Coffee Shop is how personal Cara is. She cares about everyone that walks through her doors. She doesn't just ask how are you and takes your order. She listens to you with with an open mind and a very kind heart! If you find yourself having a down day, after visiting her at her coffee shop, you leave feeling better because you have someone who generally cares about her clients. Keep up the great work Cara and staff, it's always a tasteful pleasure walking through the doors. If you do pop by, make sure to check out the Wiser and Digger smoothies. That's right, she even has included her Fur-kids in the business by naming smoothies after her boys. How sweet is that!

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this difficult time. Are you at home suffering from cabin fever? There's many animals looking for their forever homes and this is the time to help. We would like to introduce Tanner and Hunter( First photo), these two lads are brothers who love eachother so much and never spent a night away from eachother for 7 years. So we are happy to announce these two lads are looking for a forever home to be adopted together so their bound will never be broken. If you are looking to add some humour to your day, then these boys will do the trick. Both Tanner and Hunter are a funny pair who are filled with happiness and love.
Now meet Mackeda AKA, Mr.Blue! Mackeda is a young boy who is filled with energy and is always up for an adventure. He has come along way since being in our care. His manners have improved alot but he's best suited for someone who has dog experience. He's still learning and will need some minor guidance when he's adopted but trust me, he's definitely worth the work. Mackeda is a boy who can run for hours but he sure loves his snuggles after a good play or after an adventure. If you are interested in adopting the lads or Mackeda, please feel free to contact Valley Animal Rescue.
Since COVID 19 outbreak, there's many Fur-kids who need some help. This is our chance to come together and help the furry ones that are in need of some help. Ever little bit counts, an e-transfer, fostering or adoptions are ways that will help the Fur-kids. If you have any questions or you are interested in fostering or adopting, please contact Valley Animal Rescue. We like to give a PAW-5 to Valley Animal Rescue for doing what they do best, rescuing the ones that need a new chapter in life. Did you know? We have been helping Valley Animal Rescue for many years now and we love working with them. We have helped with the "easy" Fur-kids along with the ones who need training due to manners or behavior issues. I personally have adopted three Furry-kids from Valley Animal Rescue and will continue to help in any way that I can.
