Freddy Update 💙

We’re so happy to share that Freddy has been adopted and has found his new family! Even better, he’s been reunited with his brother from the same litter, which makes this send-off extra special for us.

Seeing them together again has been so heart-warming, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer way to start this next chapter of Freddy’s journey. He’s exactly where he’s meant to be.

Thank you so much to everyone who followed along, shared his story, and sent such kind messages — we truly appreciate all the support.

Freddy update! We’re happy to share that Freddy was neutered yesterday, and everything went very smoothly. He was a bit groggy and sleepy last night, but today he’s already feeling much more like himself. 😊

For now, we’re keeping him calm and giving him time to heal, which means he needs to stay separated from Bear and Bella, but he’s handling it like a champ and is in great spirits. This morning, he enjoyed a walk around the property and had fun visiting the pigs and chickens.

We’re also excited to share that we have a wonderful prospective family for Freddy who will be coming to visit and potentially take him home next weekend. In the meantime, we’re continuing to care for him, enjoy his company, and learn more about his sweet personality each day.

We’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as things progress. 🐶🐾

Freddy had a great visit at the vet today!

He did an excellent job, was very happy to see the staff and, of course, wanted to give friendly hellos to all the puppies in the waiting room. He was also wonderful on the car ride there, sitting happily looking out the window and laying down in the back seat (I wish my other dogs were this calm in the car! 😅).

His check-up confirmed that he is in excellent health, and the vet had nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He truly is a big sweetheart, and there are no medical concerns at all. He’s weighing in at around 85 lbs (he kept resting his big butt against the wall, so give or take a few pounds 😁).

Tomorrow, Freddy will be getting neutered. This is an important step for him, and we expect it will help manage his some of his excitement during play with other dogs, alongside continued training and structure of course.

We’re so proud of how well he’s doing with us. He loves taking naps nearby, enjoys playing fetch for short periods, and has been very curious about our chickens! 🤣

We are still actively looking for the right home for Freddy, where he can be someone’s cherished companion.

Freddy has been adopted. 🐶🐾

After a year without puppies, we unexpectedly welcomed one of our own back home from a past litter. Due to circumstances, this sweet boy has returned to us, and we are now looking to find the right new home for him.

We are committed to taking responsibility for every puppy we’ve raised and to doing what’s best for them long term, including making every effort to match them with their forever homes. With that in mind, we’d love to introduce Freddy.

Freddy is a 1.5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog from our July 2024 litter. He is a sweet, affectionate big boy who loves being around people. Freddy is not used to being home alone regularly, so we are looking for a home where someone is around most of the time—such as a work-from-home household or a retired individual or couple—who can give him the companionship and attention he needs. He would thrive is a single dog household with a mature family.

He is fully house trained and learns quickly. He’s in great health and is scheduled to be neutered this week.

Freddy is a total sweetheart and loves cuddles. He is used to being around other dogs and older children, though he needs appropriate supervision to support good manners and positive interactions. In certain situations, Freddy can become over-excited and needs guidance and supervision around other dogs. He has been responsive to redirection and structure, and we expect his upcoming neuter and continued training to be very helpful as he continues to mature.

We are happy to discuss in more detail with serious inquiries and are focused on finding the right long-term match for him. Please feel free to reach out privately or share this post thoughtfully with someone you trust who may be a great fit.

Dear Friends…
After thoughtful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to step away from breeding for the foreseeable future. This was not an easy choice, but it is the right one given our changing circumstances. Our dogs remain cherished members of our family, and we’ve taken the step to spay and neuter them.

Raising Bernese Mountain Dog puppies has been an incredible joy, and we are deeply grateful to the amazing families who have welcomed our puppies into their lives. Thank you for your trust, support, and for sharing this wonderful journey with us.

To all our adoptive families and friends, we plan to keep our page active to share updates and stories about Bear and Bella as they continue their silly adventures with us.

After 3 wonderful months with our sweet Pinky (now named Rosie), we dropped her off to the airport today, where she flew off to Nova Scotia to meet her new family. We were happy to know she arrived safe and sound and is now on her way to her forever home.
