We are excited to kick off another season, having recently conducted our AGM and welcoming a few new members to our board.

This year our motto is “short term focus, long term vision”. In 2025 you’ll see us doubling down on the initiatives that exhibitors/members value most including: the Provincial Championship, Social Hours and Community Building, and we are working to re-envision our Clinic. We are also pleased to have two AQHA Amateur Ambassadors who will be presented at many of the OQHA shows: Myself and Julie Tremblay-Ladouceur.

Right now we have two initiatives active! The Virtual Winter Challenge presented by OAQHA and a fun Hockey Pool! Be sure to get your picks in for the NHL pool by February 26th - winner takes half the pot!

Community Member Award 2025

Congratulations Jordan Carney

The Community Member Award was created to recognize a youth member who showed an outstanding amount of leadership, initiative and commitment to the Ontario Quarter Horse Youth Association. This includes attending meetings, helping with fundraisers, and actively engaging with the youth board and its members.
In 2024, Jordan Carney was awarded the Community Member Award as she set a great example for youth members to follow. Jordan collaborated with the Amateur association to run new initiatives for OQHA members, and continuously showed a passion and engagement with the quarter horse community.

📄A message from your President:

OQHA Community,

I can’t believe I am saying this but as we move into February! I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made together and the exciting initiatives ahead. This past month we held our AGM and Banquet, Congratulations to everyone on a successful 2024 season! We also had our first Board of Directors meeting and it was great a lot of collaboration, and inspiration, and none of it would have been possible without the continued support of our dedicated members, volunteers, community and sponsors!

As we all look forward to the sunny days ahead I’m excited to share that we will be launching a couple fundraisers so we can bring some exciting initiatives forward for everyone in 2025. As we look ahead, we are focusing on building our community.

These next steps will require even more passion and collaboration, and I have no doubt that, together, we will continue to make a meaningful difference for everyone this season!

Whether it’s through your hands-on support or your financial contributions, each of you plays an essential role in helping us advance our mission and we want Thank you, your support is the heart of everything we do. Let’s continue to work toward a future filled with positive change.
