My story started with my best friend, Max

Max was a boxer dog that was a huge part of our family. I had many pets growing up but Max was the first animal that I had a true connection with. Our bond was strengthened during a difficult immigration transition. Fast forward a few years, I left home for art school and missed him terribly. One Christmas visit I collected some of his fur as I was longing for a way to feel closer to him. In 2014, I experimented with making jewelry using his fur and created a piece that preserved his fur perfectly. Just a few short months later Max passed away. I wasn’t there with him, but he was there with me. The connection and comfort I felt through the necklace that contained his fur was exactly what I needed to help me through the next difficult stage of my life – the grief associated with Max’s passing. After this, I knew that I had to explore creating these keepsakes for others so they could be reconnected with their loved ones. And that is what I did. I finished school and started building a community around pet loss and grief through my blog and providing people with products to bring them closer to their loved ones.
