It's National Kitten Day🐱
Thinking of adding a new addition to your home?
Here are 5 top tips for bringing home a new kitten friend:
1) Prepare all supplies ahead of time: food, dishes, scratching posts, travel carrier etc.
2) Pet proof your home: Kittens are excellent at finding mischief. Make sure to secure all windows and doors, ensure hazardous items (electrical cords, chemicals, toxic plants etc.) are kept out of reach
3) Set up a quiet/safe room to acclimate your kitten to their new surroundings.
4) Be patient and slow with introductions. New homes can be overwhelming for our new friends, allow slow interactions with your current pets to help encourage positive relationships. Pheromone diffusers can help cats feel more at ease with their new housemate.
5) Schedule an appointment with your veterinarian for a complete health check, vaccinations and deworming.
Stay cool, stay hydrated! 💧🐾 🌞
The hot weather is here, reminding us to keep our furry friends refreshed and revitalized during the summer heat to help prevent dehydration and/or heatstroke. Remember to provide fresh water and shade, especially during outdoor adventures. Let's keep those tails wagging and tongues lapping with plenty of H2O!
