With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

🚗Never leave your pet unattended in a car

☀️When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited

💦Keep your pet hydrated

🌬️Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment

➡️Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves

Warmer weather is upon us, which means ticks are too! Regular tick checks can help prevent Lyme disease in your pet. These are the most common spots ticks like to burrow on dogs. Ticks are most commonly found on cats in places they cannot reach to groom (head, ears and muzzle). Always check yourself and your pet when coming inside and talk to your veterinary team about the right preventative medications for your pet.

Meet Pebbles❤
Pebbles is a one of a kind boy with a story of hope to share!
Pebbles came to see us in January after an unfortunate accident, Pebbles was hit by a car and although his body was okay, he suffered a major head injury. He has gone through months of extensive care both within our hospital and at home by his incredible owners. Due to the extent of his injuries, Pebbles required several surgeries and hospitalization for several weeks. Pebbles was finally able to return home, but still needed a feeding tube and lots of TLC. Pebbles is still on his road to recovery but has made incredible progress so far. His right eye may not point straight anymore but we think he's even cuter! Thank you to his amazing owners for entrusting us with the care of Pebbles and going above and beyond at home with his nursing care.
