P.A.W. Rescue helps local Chatham-Kent pets! We strive to promote compassion towards all animals. Pet and Wildlife Rescue (P.A.W.R.)

is a non-profit rescue organization operating out of Chatham-Kent Ontario. PAWR is dedicated to four primary objectives:

- Providing animal control for all of Chatham-Kent
- Re-homing local domestic animals who are homeless.
- Lowering the number of stray animals within the community.
- Ensuring orphaned and injured wildlife receive proper care, rehabilitation and reintroduction to the wild
- Educating the public and advocating on behalf of all animals.

With the colder days approaching, we’re in urgent need of wet cat food to keep our shelter kitties well-fed and comfortable. Wet food provides vital hydration, warmth, and nutrition, especially as temperatures drop and our feline friends need a little extra fuel to stay cozy.

Additionally, with a recent influx of pups, we're also in need of durable dog toys to keep them happy and engaged while they wait for their forever homes. Every donation—whether it’s a can, a toy, or a case—means the world to us and our furry friends!

If you’re able to donate, any brand of wet cat food will help fill little bellies and make a big difference! And for our playful pups, dog toys are also greatly needed to keep them active and happy. Donations can be dropped off at our shelter, and if you'd like to support from afar, feel free to give us a call for other ways to contribute.

Some stories take longer to write, and Robbie’s was one of them. After what felt like forever in our care, our goofy, lovable Robbie with the biggest personality finally FOUND HIS FOREVER FAMILY—and we couldn’t be happier! 🎉

Robbie’s journey wasn’t easy. He came to us as a stray, needing a patient family to embrace his quirks, energy, and big heart. Day by day, he waited, and we never gave up hope.

And then, just like that, his people found him—a family who adores his goofy grin and love for the outdoors. Now he’s thriving, chasing sticks, going on adventures, and soaking up all the love he deserves!

Look, I know everyone says they’re "𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒈," but I’m not like every dog. I’m a 1-year-old Pointer x Heeler mix with the energy of a triple-shot espresso and the snuggle skills of a weighted blanket. Wanna go on a hike? I’m there. Need someone to sprint through the backyard with reckless enthusiasm? Done. Got a movie marathon planned? I’ll be right next to you, nose in the popcorn. Basically, I’m a “do-everything-together” kind of gal.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥: I’m what you might call a “shadow dog,” which means if you move, I move. You’ll never be lonely again, even if you’re just brushing your teeth! 🪥 But fair warning—small animals? Yeah, they look a little too much like squeaky toys to me. So, no cats or hamsters, please. I also get a little too excited when I see other dogs on a leash, but I’m working on it, okay? Nobody’s perfect.

We're seeking loving 𝐅𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑-𝐓𝐎-𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐏𝐓 homes for four precious Corgis who have come from very challenging situations. These pups have spent too much time crated, leaving some shy but all are incredibly loving and deserving of a fresh start.

In a foster-to-adopt home, these Corgis can decompress while we work on their potty and leash training. We're looking for patient fosters who can provide the stability they need.

That’s right, I’m back on the lookout for my forever family, and I promise, I’m worth every single brush stroke! They say I’m the “𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘬𝘺” – and no, not just because of my majestic fluffy coat (though that is pretty spectacular). I’m chill, cuddly, and surprisingly mellow for a Husky x Malamute mix! I’m that rare combo of big heart, soft paws, and just the right amount of lazy. Other dogs? Cool. Cats? I can vibe with them too. I’m basically a diplomat in a dog suit!

What do I love the most? 𝐘𝐎𝐔.💕 I’m happiest when I’m with my people, whether it’s lounging on the couch, hanging out in the yard, or going for slow, scenic walks. I don’t need crazy adventures – just some love, snacks, and someone to lean on. Oh, and yeah, I am a bit of a “fur factory,” so I’ll need some brushing… but hey, I see it as bonding time! They’re not just cute—they’re clever too! These bonded bunnies adore puzzles, zoomies, and all things play. 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨, 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝! 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐦𝐞, 𝐑𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐞! 🐾

I may be a Siberian Husky, but trust me—I'm only about 20% "zoomies" and 80% "belly-rub connoisseur." Sure, I love a good walk and the occasional adventure, but at 6 years old, I've really perfected the art of chill. My ideal day? A little stroll to keep the tail waggin’, followed by a solid snuggle session with my humans. I get along best with the ladies—dog ladies, that is—and I’m open to new canine friendships with the right vibe. Cats, though? Yeah… let’s just say they’re not invited to my party.

I’m an easygoing boy with a big heart, and all I ask is a loving home where I can give (and receive!) endless affection. Pet and Wildlife Rescue is back again with another NATURE NUGGET on this lovely Tuesday! This time we are talking about a certain animal that has the ability to change the colour of their fur depending on the season! This helps them evade those "Hare-Y" Situations! You might not see them around here often but they are pretty spread out across North America...they are the SNOWSHOE HARE! Unique and gorgeous rabbits, they can evade super fast in deep snow thanks to their snowshoe like feet! Happy Tuesday and have a great week!

I’m a 1-year-old, 33-pound Poodle mix, and I’ve got one goal in life: to be 𝘵𝘩𝘦 snuggliest, most loyal best friend you’ve ever had.
