This was a fun and challenging weekend at Nationals. Proud of Frankie. We got 9th place out of 39 in one of our jumper runs.

Lola just finished Basic Good Manners. So much fun to have her in class. A new manners series begins Tuesday, July 2nd at 6:00. Suitable for pups 16+ weeks of age.

Ontario Regional Championship. Frankie and I placed 10th in our Division and qualified for the National Agility Championship. Proud of this young girl. The future is bright as we progress our skills together 😊🐾.

Not very glamorous but single ingredient training treats. Chicken hearts boiled and cut up. Less than $6. Posh and Frankie approved.🐾😊

My house is full of scatter mats and runners. My dogs are young.

Wooden and tiled floors are frequently hazardous for our patients. Slipping can predispose them to iliopsoas tears or strains and flare-ups of arthritic joints, which eventually results in more pain and discomfort for the pet. Once a patient has slipped or fallen, it is not uncommon that they lose confidence in walking on these surfaces, which increases their anxiety and stress levels.

Dogs gain traction through their nails and their paw pads. Some of the strategies to prevent slipping involve increasing traction through either the nails, paw pads, or both.

Aura has finished Welcome Puppy and is now enjoying Basic Good Manners. This program is great for our canine companions.

Henry had been through Manners as a puppy. His guardian reached out as he was struggling with confidence and some leash reactivity. He is a great work in progress. It was great to see him blossom and look more relaxed as we progressed through our sessions together.

Tucker just finished Welcome Puppy and is all set to start Basic Good Manners on Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00. He has been such a happy guy in class. A new Welcome Puppy begins Monday June 3rd at 6:00.

This is great info. Posh and Frankie get lots of food rewards on life and training a lot of it is part of their daily food ration. I try to adjust things in order to keep them at an ideal weight.

Auto working on some Foundation skills for Agility.

I have done a lot of work with Frankie seeing the world out the window without getting excited. Cats loose in the neighborhood are last on the list of things not to growl, bark and get excited about. Her breathing still changes and you can see closed tight mouth here and stiff posture but no growling or barking. Cat passed the house on the opposite side of the street. Once the cat was gone she was able to lay down and relax. Window is open so Posh and Frankie can hear all the various neighbourhood sounds while resting after a good walk.

One spot has opened up for Foundations to Agility beginning Thursday, May 16th at 6:00. www.capable-canines.ca This sereis will run for 6-weeks. Dog must be able to have fun in a group setting.

Saw this before. Dogs are all different and our expectations of what they should tolerate can often be unfair and unrealistic. Good management and training can help them be successful living with us humans.

Come join us! Fun, fair and effective training. For pups 10-16 weeks of age. The Welcome Puppy Portion builds a great foundation for future training.

Just finished puppy privates with Delilah. Going to miss seeing this little sweetheart. Her humans wanted to get a good Foundation. It was hard to get a good picture because she wanted to visit!😊🐾. She is off to a great start with her new family. In person group puppy classes are starting in April.

MONDAY APRIL 1st at 6:00. Come Join Us. All group classes resume the first week of April.

The dogs do have to be taught to accept separation which makes the management plan easy to implement.

Another excerpt from Harvey and Bear’s fun.

Bear and Harvey were a little excited when they arrived today and Bear was pulling into his collar fairly hard so we slowed things down a bit to get Bear moving about without pounding to the end of the leash. He tuned in pretty quickly. Bear is young and will need training but is happy to learn. Bear is available for adoption at the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.

Bear back for some more training fun. First few seconds with nose target prop. This lovely pup is available for adoption at the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.

The challenge was picking up a card off slippery surface and carpet. Posh punctured the card while bringing it too me 😂. Frankie was much gentler. Take it and get it can be great little mini trainers.
