October is Vet Tech month! Veterinary technicians play an important role in providing care for our furry friends. As dedicated professionals, they work closely with our veterinarians to provide high-quality medical treatment (as well as love and snuggles!). From administering anesthesia to performing diagnostic tests, veterinary technicians help to keep our pets healthy and happy. We would like to stand up and applaud our fantastic technicians for all of their hard work and dedication. It is truly a pleasure working with this crew! Thank you to Carly, Monique, Stacie, Taylor, Shannon and Candice!

Aanii. I know today is not Orange Shirt Day but we are on call and I drew today and Sunday! (I really need to find a better boss!) So I will be off on Monday. Therefore I am wearing my shirt today and the beard is Orange. To all my indigenous friends, clients and colleagues I will spend my Monday reflecting on Canada's relationship with the indigenous Nations of Canada past, present and future and my role in it! Every Child Matters! Miigwetch!

Fall is an important time for parasite protection. We see flea infestations peak in the fall and blacklegged (deer) ticks are out looking for a host when its 4° C and above, no matter the season. In Northern Ontario, October and November are high risk months to encounter blacklegged ticks. Blacklegged ticks can transmit the bacteria that causes Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis to you and your pet. Let’s keep your pet protected from ticks and the diseases they can carry.
