Camp Update:

I saw the orthopaedic surgeon last Monday. He took off my plaster cast, removed my staples, and gave me an aircast. He also told me that I'm not allowed to put any weight on my leg or ankle for four more weeks. At that time I'll see him again and we'll go from there.

While this isn't the news I had hoped for, I guess it's not really a surprise given the nature of my breaks and the fact that they had to put a plate and screws in my ankle.

I feel like a broken record, but I can't express how truly grateful I am to feel so supported by all of you, and especially by Colin.

One more time... thank you for everything; the emails, calls, texts, cards, check-ins and positive thoughts have boosted my spirits immensely.

I hope to see you soon!
Julie 💓

To quote Britney Spears... "Oops, I did it Again".

On Saturday afternoon, while out with dogs, I turned my ankle and broke two bones in my right leg and ankle. It was my left leg that I broke last year. I had surgery yesterday and now have a plate in my ankle.

To add insult to injury, prior to surgery, while using my crutches, I banged a toe on my left foot and broke it too.

I’m in a plaster cast until I see the Orthopedic surgeon in two weeks. At that time I'll get a walking air cast.

I will be renting a motorized off road scooter and other equipment so I can get around more easily and do solo walks with the dogs.

Everything is business as usual - just no mountain hikes. Thankfully the dogs are happy to take it pretty easy in this warmer weather. We have the pool set up, along with other interactive games, and Colin will be doing walks as well.

Not what we had planned for the last month of summer, but sometimes things don't go as planned. All in all, I'm feeling good and Colin and the dogs are taking excellent care of me.

Evening walks to the river always remind me of my youth; after dinner drives to dqcanada in my pajamas, days spent in the pool, building forts with the neighbourhood kids. ⁣
And Camp, the best two weeks of summer. ⁣
