That being said y’all… this is your official price raise post! WHOMP! we have raised our prices.. FEW times over the last 5 years.. $5-10 maybe $15… and I have a really hard time sticking to it! Unfortunately, I can no longer be a bleeding heart, that does not translate into longevity of my business. I wanna make all my clients happy only way I can do that is to stay in business! And I won’t get there if I’m still giving up prices from 2020 to a ton of people. The cost of supplies, equipment, shampoo’s property.. blah blah blah (does she ever stop talking) has gone up 100%, so in turn.. so the services. I believe we do really really good work here at Puppy Pitstop, and quality of work should really reflect in the price, we are happy to work with our clients to make up a schedule that works for you and that you can afford. If you’re worried about this price increase, please send us a message and will give you an idea of how much your regular grooming is going to cost. 🐾 we love each and every one of you and we hope you understand!!

This is not normally a type of post that we would share… however!! sometimes I think it’s necessary to educate our clients on why it costs more to have your dog shaved when they’re matted. This post is absolutely not meant to shame owners as there is many circumstances where this could become out of our control. However, we do think it’s necessary to educate, and sometimes that understanding comes directly from photos and videos themselves. As groomers, we struggle with breaking the news to you that your dog will be matted shaved, it IS literally last resort for us. We didn’t become groomers to shave dogs down to their skin, and do the most simplistic haircut possible. We want to make each and every dog fluffy and beautiful but with that we have to also make sure they’re comfortable, and that is always going to come first. Believe it or not.. It’s actually is more work to shave a dog, especially when they’re matted, it is meticulous, and stressful, we are worried the whole time for the dogs comfort and safety and it is incredibly hard on our equipment.. and of course the dog! Doing a simple shave on a dog and doing a matted shave on a dog are two completely different things. Matted shaves take time, we are constantly switching out blades, making sure they do not get too hot and burning your dogs skin. We are slowly working and making sure the skin does not get pulled into the blade from the mats tugging, we are trying our best to not cut to close and give them irritation. There is so many things that go into shaving a matted dog that make it cost more.
Removing the mats in any situation, tugs and pulls on the dogs skin, but starting fresh and never attempting to de-Matt our dogs for vanity purposes is always the most humane way to go about it. As your groomers, we’ve dedicated our life to your dogs hygiene, and we are here to help in anyway we can achieve that goal, so please ask, if you’re lost and need a couple pointers for at home care we are literally a text message away! 🐾
