So this is how Doggie Ramps by Brad got started…
I’ve worked in construction for many years. I’ve built homes, done everything from framing, concrete foundations, finishing carpentry, painting, laminate flooring, drywall, etc, etc, etc and the list goes on.
The last 16 years I have been working in a more specialized field concentrating on specific things. Cabinet refacing, countertop resurfacing(spray on coating) and bathtub reglazing.
When The pandemic hit and the economy slowed down my phones stopped ringing and my work came to a halt.
One of my last customers heard that my work was about to slow down and they asked me if I would be interested in building them a doggie ramp for their interior stairs. My response was “ A what?!” As I’ve built a lot of things but never heard of a doggie ramp before.
They have 2 dachsund pups and they told me that they are not supposed to go up and down stairs as it can cause harm to their backs over time. The surgery to correct these back problems costs many thousands of dollars.
I figured as a carpenter I can pretty much build anything and now had the time so let’s do it.
I took the job, built and installed the doggie ramp. The dogs were apprehensive at first but within minutes they were going up and down no problem.
After telling a few people about this I heard other stories about how this doggie ramp would work for other situations such as older dogs having trouble getting up and down stairs or dogs that can go up no problem but are afraid to come down and realized that there could be a need for custom doggie ramps for interior staircases tailored to individual needs.
That how Doggie Ramps by Brad was born.
I am based in the Fraser Valley in South western British Columbia, Canada and will service the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley.
If you have a dog struggling with mobility on interior stairs, maybe a Doggie Ramp might be the solution.
