Summer camps are here again, along with an exciting line up of other educational and fun things for kids to learn about horses. All camps are held at April Acres in Chilliwack. check my website for more info and Registration forms. email me at: [email protected] Here we go:

The Littles Camp - Kids ages 4 - 6
July 18th to 20th
10 am to 12 noon
Cost: $295 per child

This is for the little kids who love to play with ponies, there will be grooming and riding, and some crafts and coloring, as well as learning the markings and colors of horses. Snacks will be available, and the older riders will have a chance to help out.

July 25th to 29th - Ages 8 and up
9 am to 2 pm
Cost: $495 per child, families with more than one child will receive a $50 discount.

Bring lunch and drinks, I will have snacks and water available. Lessons will be divided according to level of skill.

July 14th - Kids Bandaging
10 am to 12 noon
Cost: $50 per child

August 6th: Kids Fun day - maximum of 6 per class
10 am to finish
Cost for the day - $100 per child
Classes - Turnout, cleanliness of horse and tack
In hand - beginner
In hand advanced
Walk trot - Equitation
Walk, trot canter - equitation
Obstacle course, accuracy and timing

August 11th - kids Equine First Aid
10 am to 12 noon
Kids will learn the vital signs of the horse, signs of pain, and colic. Handouts are given
$50 per child

August 15th - 19th - summer camp
9 am to 2 pm
$495 per child

August 28th - Adult Basic First Aid
10 am to 2 pm
Cost: $195 per person

September 11th - adult Feed and Nutrition - the Basics
10 am to 2 pm
$195 per person

Coming up this summer, I'll be hosting Equine First Aid for both kids and horses, play days, obstacle courses, therapeutic bandaging, kids camps and care of the horse, and also a lunging clinic including the correct use of ground poles and Cavaletti. Summer Camps at April Acres are fast approaching! Here are the dates, please email me for registration forms: [email protected]

Beginner Camps: July 5th to 7th and August 9th to 11th.
These are for kids who have never ridden, or just started riding at the walk and some trotting on the lunge line. Camps are geared towards the care of the horse and good horsemanship with an emphasis on safety and fun. Students will be given a handout and the maximum number in each camp is 8 kids. Ages 6 and up.
Cost: $295 per child
Time: 9 am to 12 noon
Sturdy shoes or boots are required, stretchy pants and a properly fitting bike helmet. Parents must provide lunch, I will have some snacks and drinks available. A $50 non - refundable deposit is required to hold your spot, first come first serve. Students will receive a booklet and photos of the camp week.

Intermediate camp: July 12th to 16th and August 16th to 20th
This camp is for kids who are strongly trotting, learning to canter and doing some low jumping. Students will learn about feed, some first aid and learning to read the horse's body language to tune in to the animal. We will be doing some obstacle courses as well. There will also be a handout and photos at the end of the week. Parents with more than one child in the same household will receive a $50 discount for the second child. Deposits of $50 per child are required to hold your spot, first come, first serve. Students must bring their own lunch, and I will provide snacks and drinks.
Cost: $495 per child
Time: 9 am to 2 pm

I am a Level 2 CHA certified instructor with Insurance and current First aid. I have been teaching for 35 years. All students must have their BC Horse council membership and provide me with the number before camp starts. This is required for riding lessons also.
