Hello from Ewenique Acres, we have officially moved to Mannville, Alberta!

For nearly a decade Ewenique Acres has been providing top quality products including baked goods, produce, plants, spices, sauces, and more. Originally operating out of Powassan, Ontario, Ewenique is a family owned and operated market garden looking to provide the community with fresh "picked for you" produce. Farm to table products provided through CSA's & private order with open communication so you know exactly where and how your food is grown.

Have you ever tried a white cucumber? We will have lots of white cucumbers available at the North Bay Farmers' Market tomorrow from 10 am till 2pm. They have that same refreshing cucumber taste with a hint of melon flavour!

We will also have some beautiful 🤩 gladiolus and sunflower mixed jars of blooms, tons of yellow summer squash, green zucchini, garlic, green cucumbers, egg plant, cherry tomatoes, green beans, broccoli florets and radish pods!

What Are Garlic Scapes?

If you love garlic, then you’ve got to try garlic scapes. Garlic scapes are the long green shoots that grow from the garlic bulb, and they are an amazing way to add garlicky flavor to your favorite dishes. They’re a bit milder than garlic cloves, which make them the perfect base for pestos, an addition to quiches, or even eaten straight up sauteed with a little salt. Wash the garlic scapes, and trim the end and the bud. Many people discard the bud because it can be quite fibrous, particularly in raw preparations. Garlic scapes can be stored in the fridge for up to three weeks in a zip-top plastic bag left slightly open.

We are back North Bay Farmers' Market tomorrow from 10 am till 2pm! Come out on and say hi! We will have spinach, kale, radishes, a few kohlrabi , the last of the seasons seedlings and some beautiful Lupin blooms 😍!

We have fresh picked , washed and ready to eat baby Spinach, purple and green kale. Green onions bunches, lots of duck and rainbow chicken eggs.

Finally fresh salad season is starting! We love nothing more then browsing the garden for dinner. Baby Kale, baby spinach, red and green lettuce, and topped with some beautiful edible flowers!

Our beautiful free range hens want everyone to know we will have some of their stunning rainbow coloured eggs 🌈 at the North Bay Farmers' Market Saturday from 8:30 till 1pm! Farm stand is open this weekend. Self serve! We have lots of eggs ( 🌈 chicken, banty chicken, duck and goose). Lots of flower and veggie plants available as well with tons more in the greenhouse. Well with the beautiful weekend coming up the farm stand will be open Saturday and Sunday self serve ! We have lots of flower and veggie seedlings ready to go with more coming each week. All seedlings are started and grown here on the farm. This weekend we have

Some others may make it out throughout the weekend. If you have anything in particular you are looking for please let us know as we have a large selection in the greenhouse and are happy to make up custom trays.

We also will have our free range rainbow chicken eggs in the farm stand as well as duck eggs and banty chicken eggs. Come on out for a beautiful drive this weekend and pick up something special for the moms in your life.

It certainly is starting to look and feel spring here on the farm! Some beautiful seedlings starting to flower, love the purple heart shaped petals on this one! And some awesome colours on these little Durango series marigolds. We will have some of both available along with many other flower and veggies seedlings available both at the farm stand and soon the North bay farmers market!

While the weather may be cold and grey out our cold hardy crops are very happy with the seasonal weather. The garlic is up and looking fantastic! The first rounds of broccoli, cauliflower, Kale and head lettuce have all been transplanted out to there final growing rows and are doing great. Round one of snap peas, spinach, carrots have been planted. Things are really getting going now. We have some exiting new crops coming this season as well as some repeat favourites. Still a couple spots available for our CSA veggie baskets this season. Sign up soon as we are only taking a few more this season. Delivery spots still available!

Thanks to the support from the Fair Finance Fund we have been able to add some much needed equipment to our farm. With these new additions it will allow us to continue expanding our CSA program, offer our amazing products straight from the farmstand and also attend a farmers market!

We have limited CSA shares still available for the 2023 season running June-September. Amazingly fresh and absolutely 100% locally grown (straight from our farm to your table!) seasonal produce baskets available weekly or biweekly. With the option of Delivery straight to your door or Pickup at our farmstand its never been easier to love local food.
