While we are affiliated with the SPCA NL, we also work closely with other shelters, rescue groups, and agencies concerned wi

th animal welfare to provide the best level of protection for animals. Our mission is to protect and care for animals that have no other shelter. When possible, we expand our services to include animals whose owners have to relinquish them for one reason or another. We try to spay and neuter as many animals as we can to enhance their adoptability. Our aim is to educate people to treat animals with the respect and love that they deserve and to encourage people to be responsible pet owners.

Meet Stanley!
DOB: Feb 3/2022, Over 2 yrs old

Mr. Stanley is a Pitbull mix that currently weighs 28kgs. He came to us after his family could no longer care for him. He went through a lot of changes in the home and they seen that he was no longer thriving in the home. Stanley is a very timid boy but since he has been with us we can see him starting to show some of his true colours. He loves bum and back scratches and likes to lay on his blanket in the office. Stanley even started to show us a goofy side of him today. He is very friendly when you get to know him!

Stanley goes in his kennel and never makes a mess inside. He loves his dry food all on its own. We are told he has a sensitivity to chicken so he is currently on a salmon and duck diet.

We would prefer a home for Stanley with no children. He is great with cats and never tested with another dog. A quiet home is what we are looking for as he really needs all the attention for himself to fully shine and get his full personality back!

Stanley has received his first DA2PP vaccine and Interceptor Plus deworming. He was NEUTERED Wednesday, Nov 13/2024.

Meet Rocco!
DOB: Nov 25/2021, Almost 3 Years Old

He is a beautiful long haired German Shepherd. This handsome boy has come to our shelter and we can honestly say that he has stolen all of our hearts, staff, board members and volunteers.

He loves to hang out with his people, give lots of kisses and he even thinks he is a lap dog sometimes. He likes to go out in the dog park and yard to play with balls. Large bouncy balls are his favourite! He also enjoys going for walks and rides in car.

Rocco is a very good boy in his kennel. We do not have to force him in, he will go on in on his own and will not make a peep the whole time he is in there. He loves his meals and will eat his dry food as is. Treats are of course always a must too!

Rocco is good with children, cats and other dogs. A meet with another dog in the home is a must before he can go anywhere.

Rocco has been through extensive professional behavioural training and we will be looking for a new owner in the Metro (St. John’s) area that can continue with his training. More details on this can be provided to serious applicants only. We are looking for experienced dog owners only and people with Shephard breed experience would definitely be of benefit as well. Rocco is very special to us and we will be selective on where he is going to make sure he is with the perfect family to suit all his needs.

Rocco is NEUTERED & has received his DA2PP vaccines & Simparica Trio.

Meet the Donkey Kong Kittens!!!

They are your typical kittens who like to play and have fun. Donkey and Diddy are brothers and are very social and affectionate. Dixie is not from the same litter as them and is a bit shy but still loves to play and have fun with the two boys!

They have had their first FVRCP vaccine, deworming & flea treatment. They will need to be spayed/neutered by her new family at six months old.

Meet Kitty,

Kitty is a 4 yr old gorgeous female cat that needs a new home.

She did live with another cat in her previous home & is said to be good with other cats but right now she is not really liking the cats around her so much so she is just sticking to her own condo for now. We hope that when he settles in more she will like the being around other cats. She also lived with teenagers & does not like dogs at all.

She is FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed & flea treated.

Meet Teacup,
Female, 1 yr old

She is the mom to the 4 kittens listed. She is a very sweet girl and is very unique looking because she is a bobtail. Also black cats tend to have the sweetest personalities.

Her babies are going off to their new homes and then she will be ready to go to hers. She has not been tested with other animals yet but she loves everyone that she has meet so far.

She is FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed & flea treated. She will SPAYED and FIV/FeLV tested this month.

Good morning from Timmy!

Timmy says good morning everyone!! He would like to let everyone know that we are closed for the weekend and will open up again Tuesday at 11am!! Happy may 24th weekend everyone!

What else to do on a rainy day then to do some arts and crafts! 🎨 The cats along with Whiskey and Echo went painting today. They all enjoy completing their craft soo much! Hey everyone! We just wanted to post up a video to show how easy it is to administer Sasha’s insulin. She is such a good girl and just waits to get it so she can get love and cuddles afterward.
