Clarenville Area SPCA Adoptables This page will be used to showcase our Adoptable Animals as well as Stray Animals who are looking for their homes.

While we are affiliated with the SPCA NL, we also work closely with other shelters, rescue groups, and agencies concerned wi

th animal welfare to provide the best level of protection for animals. Our mission is to protect and care for animals that have no other shelter. When possible, we expand our services to include animals whose owners have to relinquish them for one reason or another. We try to spay and neuter as many animals as we can to enhance their adoptability. Our aim is to educate people to treat animals with the respect and love that they deserve and to encourage people to be responsible pet owners.

Meet Nemo!
2 Years Old, DOB: Jan 24/2023

Nemo is a Standard Poodle without papers so he could be a mix. Nemo is VERY large. The picture does not do his size justice. He will be weighed at the vet on Wednesday.

Nemo got his name because of his ears. One of his ears got nipped when in the womb so he had to have it surgically removed as a very young puppy. He is now left with a short and long ear. So cute!!!

He is a very friendly giant! Loves to run in the yard and follow you everywhere you go. He is a very good boy in his kennel. Not a peep out of him and he never makes a mess. We have noticed that he can be a little timid when first meeting new people but warms up quickly. He also has a very loud bark. He hasn't barked here much but today we noticed how loud his volume was.

He will be NEUTERED Wednesday, Feb 19. He had his DA2PP vaccine and an Interceptor Plus deworming. We are told that he is good with cats, other dogs, and children but please remember that he is very big. A meet with another dog would be a must before adoption.

Meet Bonnie,

Is an adult female cat looking for a forever home. Her owner got sick and she had to go to an SPCA as there was no one to care for her.

Bonnie is very shy & will need a patient & understanding home to give her time she needs to feel comfortable in a home. We think she would be fine with another cat for companionship as she lived with multiple cats in her home. They have not been dog tested & a home with older children or just adults is preferred at this time.

She is FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed & flea treated. She is SPAYED and was FIV/FeLV tested negative Nov 29th/2024.

Meet Bubbles,

He is 1 yrs old & is a shy but friendly boy. He came in with his mom from the same home. He should be fine living with another cat. There was also a dog in the home and a teenager that he was fine with as well. He is a quiet cat so far and just enjoys hanging out in the cat tree.

Bubbles is FVRCP vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed and FELV/FIV tested & Neutered!

DO YOU KNOW ME??!

This beautiful girl was just brought in from Catalina, Mason Place. She was seen in that area for about a week now. She seems to be only young between 1-2 years old. We are unsure if she is intact or spayed at the moment. She is a very friendly girl.

Flurry came in as a stray kitten that was most likely born outside. She is here now with her brother Snowflake. Flurry and Snowflake's Momma, Winter, is very friendly but flurry is very shy at the moment.

She will need a patient and loving home that can give her lots of extra TLC to get her to trust humans.

She had her first FVRCP vaccine, deworming & flea treatment. She will need to be SPAYED by her new family at six months old.

Meet Winter,

This pretty lady came in from Little Catalina. She was spotted with 2 babies about 9-10 weeks old. We think she is a young adult.

So far she is friendly but likes to keep to herself. She does not seem to have a reaction to the other cats in the room with her but we hope that will change after she is spayed & can mingle with the other cats.

She can be tested with children & dogs after she is spayed. Her days of being a mom & being out in the cold are over. We hope she will be cuddled up in a warm loving home very soon.

Winter is FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed & flea treated. She will be SPAYED and FIV/FeLV tested Feb 11th/2025

What better way to spend some time on this beautful saturday then hanging out with Loki and Stanley! Both dogs absolutely love getting out for a walk and enjoying some fresh air! If you are interested in taking one or both on a walk today, dress warm and drop by the shelter anytime between 11-4! They will love to see you coming!

Meet Jackson!

Jackson is a German Shepherd approximately 8 months old. He is currently 62lbs. He came to us looking for a new home. He is a little shy at first but makes friends very quickly. He is a very sweet boy & just wants to be laying at your feet.

Jackson lived with 2 cats in his home & was good with other dogs. Just keep in mind he may chase the cats in a new environment. A meet would be required if there was another dog in the home. He also spent time with a 3 yr old and was fine with her.

He is also used to being kennelled as he would chew things if left out.

Jackson is up to date on his DA2PP vaccine, Rabies & Bordetella. He is also dewormed & flea treated. He Was neutered on Feb 5th/2025.

He is a very sweet boy who just wants to be by your side. He loves going for walks and spending time in the dog park. He is great on a leash. He doesn’t pull at all. He loves running around the dog park & rolling around in the snow. Your typical husky. If you enjoy the winter season Loki is the perfect dog for you.

Loki is up to date on his DA2PP vaccine. He had an Interceptor Plus Deworming as well. He was NEUTERED on Monday, Jan 27/2025.

Female, 12 weeks old

This little black beauty is very friendly & just loves all the attention she can get. She is very social and playful. We are thinking school aged children would be best suited for her as she can be a little fiesty at times. She should be okay with other cats but has not been tested with dogs yet.

She has had her first FVRCP vaccine, deworming & flea treatment. She will need to be spayed/ by her new family at six months old.

Meet Stanley!
DOB: Feb 3/2022, 3 Years Old

Mr. Stanley is a Pitbull mix that currently weighs 28kgs. He came to us after his family could no longer care for him. He went through a lot of changes in the home and they just noticed that he was no longer thriving in the home. Stan is a bit timid but still loves to meet new people. He is a big ol sook when you get to know him the way we have! He loves to go for walks and will talk right out loud when he wants to go. We all absolutely love Stan the Man to pieces and really want to find him a home he can finally thrive in.

He has shown some behavioural issues in the home settings he was placed in, when he returns to the shelter is great again! We have learned a few things about him ourselves and we are willing to share this information with people who are serious about giving him an honest chance. Please call us for more info as we will not be commenting under Facebook comment section.

Stanley goes in his kennel and never makes a mess inside. He loves his dry food all on its own. We are told he has a sensitivity to chicken so he is currently on a salmon and duck diet. He is also benefiting from a grain free diet as well. We currently have him on Apoquel as his diet is very hard to manage properly in a shelter setting.

We are looking for a home with NO OTHER PETS and NO YOUNG CHILDREN for Stanley. A quiet home is what we are looking for as he really needs all the attention for himself to fully shine and show his true personality, no distractions. We will be very selective where he is placed this time. If we feel it is not the right fit then he will stay here until we find the perfect placement. Right now, Stan is comfortable, loved and happy in our shelter.

Stanley has received both DA2PP vaccines and an Interceptor Plus deworming. He was NEUTERED Wednesday, Nov 13/2024.

Meet Bear!
Male, 9 Years Old

Bear is such a beautiful boy that we think will be scooped up in no time! He is a Lab Mix and weighs just under 60lbs.

Bear is a great dog and has a great temperament. He is your typical lab mix with his goofy and extra lovable personality. He loves to go for walks and is still in very good shape. We have noticed that when you play music, he will even get up to dance with you! He is also the type to just lay right along side of you whatever you are doing. We love him here already!

Bear was only tested with one female dog and he was good. A meet and greet would be needed first if there were another dog in the home. He was around the vet clinic cat with no issues at all. We think he would be fine with children that know to respect a dog’s boundaries of course.

Bear is now NEUTERED and received Bloodwork with no issues. He will be dewormed with Interceptor Plus and DA2PP vaccinated. Bear is currently taking medications to heal an Ear Hematoma. The Hematoma is already shrinking which is great news!

What better to do on a Sunday afternoon then take some dogs for a walk?🐶🐶🐶👟

We had so many people come out yesterday to take these three for multiple walks and they LOVED it!! Although we are not open to the public today, staff is still there today until 5 if you would like to take one of them to join you on a walk!😊

for anyone interested in walking them frequently, dog walkers are more than welcome any day throughout the week during our open hours! It’s greatly appreciated by staff and the dogs!🐶

DOB: Feb 20/2023, Almost 2 Years Old

Loki came to us in search of a new home and he is a larger boy. Loki is a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malemute Mix.

Loki is new to the shelter so we are still learning about him ourselves. Loki is a very sooky boy and loves to jump up for hugs and kisses. He loves to come up in the office with us to hang out and play with toys. He loves to go for walks and and walks very well on a leash. He is kennel trained and told this is his happy place. He would even sleep in it at night in his previous home. We think someone that can be home with him more throughout the day would be best.

A home with no young children is best where he is jumpy right now. He is good with other dogs if introduced properly. Please be mindful that he is very food motivated so living with another dog could be challenging. Loki is a little too interested and rough with cats so a home with no cats would be best.

Loki is up to date on his DA2PP vaccine. He had an Interceptor Plus Deworming as well. He will be NEUTERED on Monday, Jan 27/2025.

Good morning from Timmy!

Timmy says good morning everyone!! He would like to let everyone know that we are closed for the weekend and will open up again Tuesday at 11am!! Happy may 24th weekend everyone!

What else to do on a rainy day then to do some arts and crafts! 🎨 The cats along with Whiskey and Echo went painting today. They all enjoy completing their craft soo much! And we must say, we have quite the artists here!😍 take a look at the video to see how they done it! All of these artists are still looking for their furever homes!
