This page will be used to showcase our Adoptable Animals as well as Stray Animals who are looking for their homes.

While we are affiliated with the SPCA NL, we also work closely with other shelters, rescue groups, and agencies concerned wi

th animal welfare to provide the best level of protection for animals. Our mission is to protect and care for animals that have no other shelter. When possible, we expand our services to include animals whose owners have to relinquish them for one reason or another. We try to spay and neuter as many animals as we can to enhance their adoptability. Our aim is to educate people to treat animals with the respect and love that they deserve and to encourage people to be responsible pet owners.

What better to do on a Sunday afternoon then take some dogs for a walk?🐶🐶🐶👟

We had so many people come out yesterday to take these three for multiple walks and they LOVED it!! Although we are not open to the public today, staff is still there today until 5 if you would like to take one of them to join you on a walk!😊

for anyone interested in walking them frequently, dog walkers are more than welcome any day throughout the week during our open hours! It’s greatly appreciated by staff and the dogs!🐶

Meet Loki!
DOB: Feb 20/2023, Almost 2 Years Old

Loki came to us in search of a new home and he is a larger boy. Loki is a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malemute Mix.

Loki is new to the shelter so we are still learning about him ourselves. Loki is a very sooky boy and loves to jump up for hugs and kisses. He loves to come up in the office with us to hang out and play with toys. He loves to go for walks and and walks very well on a leash. He is kennel trained and told this is his happy place. He would even sleep in it at night in his previous home. We think someone that can be home with him more throughout the day would be best.

A home with no young children is best where he is jumpy right now. He is good with other dogs if introduced properly. Please be mindful that he is very food motivated so living with another dog could be challenging. Loki is a little too interested and rough with cats so a home with no cats would be best.

Loki is up to date on his DA2PP vaccine. He had an Interceptor Plus Deworming as well. He will be NEUTERED on Monday, Jan 27/2025.

We are now open and it is a beautiful crisp day to get out moving. The pups here at the shelter would absolutely love a walk! We are available today until 5pm for walks! Dress warm and come on by.

DO YOU KNOW ME???

This kitty was found on Jacqueline Ave in Clarenville. His is an intact male, bobtail, orange and white. He has a few scratches on his nose and looks like he was wearing a collar at one point.

We are still searching for that perfect home for Jax.

Jax is a very friendly boy and just wants to be with you! As you can see by the pictures. He even tries to sit in your lap sometimes.
Jax needs an active home. Someone who likes to go for walks, hikes or a jogger. He would also be a lovely companion for movie night with the family. Please keep in mind he is still a big puppy & can be rough sometimes. He does get along with other dogs but has to be the only pet in his home. Is a beautiful adult female cat looking for a forever home. Her owner got sick and she had to go to an SPCA as there was no one to care for her.

Marbles is very shy & will need a patient & understanding home to give her time she needs to feel comfortable in a home. We think she would be fine with another cat for companionship as she lived with multiple cats in her home. They have not been dog tested & a home with older children or just adults is preferred at this time.

She is FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed & flea treated. She is SPAYED and was FIV/FeLV tested Nov 29th/2024.

Meet Chester & Athena,

Chester
DOB: Sept /2018- 6 yrs old, Neutered, 38 kgs
Chester is a very serious looking chocolate lab but is very sweet & friendly. He is very independent but does love attention from his humans.

Athena
DOB: April 25/2020, Spayed, 38 kgs
Athena is a happy go lucky yellow lab. She is very sweet & friendly & always has a smile for everyone! We are told she loves watching TV & loves attention from people.

Both dogs would be great in any type of home. They love people of all ages and they have lived with a cat. A fenced yard would be preferred for them but it is not a must. They enjoy going for walks and just spending quality couch time with their peeps.

They have had a visit with the vet & are in good health. Both are DA2PP vaccinated & have received an Interceptor Plus deworming.

We are still looking for a perfect fit for Rocco. We are accepting new applications!

Meet Rocco!
DOB: Nov 25/2021, Almost 3 Years Old

He is a beautiful long haired German Shepherd. This handsome boy has come to our shelter and we can honestly say that he has stolen all of our hearts, staff, board members and volunteers.

He loves to hang out with his people, give lots of kisses and he even thinks he is a lap dog sometimes. He likes to go out in the dog park and yard to play with balls. Large bouncy balls are his favourite! He also enjoys going for walks and rides in car.

Rocco is a very good boy in his kennel. We do not have to force him in, he will go on in on his own and will not make a peep the whole time he is in there. A kennel will be a must in his new home as that is what he is used to. He loves his meals and will eat his dry food as is. Treats are of course always a must too!

Rocco is good with children, cats and other dogs. A meet with another dog in the home is a must before he can go anywhere. Rocco is NEUTERED & has received his DA2PP vaccines & Simparica Trio.

Rocco has been through extensive professional behavioural training and we will be looking for a new owner in the Metro (St. John’s) area that can continue with his training. Homes outside the Metro area are ok as long as you are willing to make the trip for training sessions. More details on his training can be provided to serious applicants only. We are looking for firm experienced dog owners. People with Shephard breed experience is a must! Rocco is very special to us and we will be selective on where he is going to make sure he is with the perfect family to suit all his needs.

Meet Chip & Guac!

This brother and sister duo came to us in search of a new home. They are 3 years old and such sweet and quiet kitties. Chip is the all black male who is the more outgoing one. Guac is the calico and white female and she is a bit quieter. They are both super friendly and love to be petted.

We are told that they are very bonded so we will be looking for a home to go to as a pair.

They lived with a bunny before and were fine. They seem to be doing ok with other cats here so far. We have not dog tested them as of yet. They were good with children of all ages.

They are FVRCP vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed. They are both SPAYED/NEUTERED & FIV/FeLV tested negative.

Good morning from Timmy!

Timmy says good morning everyone!! He would like to let everyone know that we are closed for the weekend and will open up again Tuesday at 11am!! Happy may 24th weekend everyone!

What else to do on a rainy day then to do some arts and crafts! 🎨 The cats along with Whiskey and Echo went painting today. They all enjoy completing their craft soo much!
