❗️Pyometra❗️Reason 192767 to get your pets SPAYED! Mimi had to have an emergency spay after being diagnosed with pyometra. If your unspayed cat has a tail that looks like the bottom right photo, her life is in danger. Pyometra causes pus/infection in the uterus. This condition occurs more frequently in older, unspayed female cats that have had several heat cycles in their lives without getting pregnant. Mimi is around 3 years old and was brought to the shelter due to peeing outside her litter box. This is a sign of an infection in cats. Her previous owner did not realize how serious her condition was. Pyometra can be fatal within a few days. Mimi was very lucky to come to the SPCA and get into the vet in time. Early signs of Pyometra are vomiting, refusal to eat, lethargy, increased thirst and frequent urination - often outside of the litter box. Along with the presence of puss and sometimes blood in urine. Mimi is recovering at the vet overnight hooked up to fluids. She was purring after her surgery, already feeling so much better. ❤️🩹 Please get your pets spayed and neutered, it can truly save their life. Mimi is an incredibly sweet girl who is looking for a home! It would be ideal for her to find a place to recover from her surgery due to our shelter having the virus.
