**** ATTENTION ****

Found near Barriere BC.

No, not up for adoption! Currently looking for possible owner(s). Proof will be needed. You may message as well with any information to stay anonymous.

He looks to have been in the bush for at least a couple of weeks. Most likely adolescent. Not fixed. No tattoo or microchip has been checked and scanned. So far, he seems friendly, docile, and has met some cats and dogs and been okay. He knows sit, he's cautious, gentle and taking food. Got excited in the vehicle. He's currently relaxing in some a/c after eating a nice little meal. He is getting used to the sounds and smells, and ince he relaxes a bit, we will see how he does with some exploring.

Pet Safety and Pools: Why a Ramp is Essential When the Pool Isn’t in Use

If you have a backyard pool, it’s important to remember: pets and wildlife don’t always understand how to get out once they fall in. While pools are a fun and refreshing place for humans, they can be dangerous—even deadly—for animals who accidentally end up in the water with no way out.

Why It Matters:

Pets Can Slip In: Dogs and cats are naturally curious. A chase, a misstep, or just exploration can lead them into the water. While some dogs can swim, not all are strong swimmers, and many can't find their way out without help.

Wildlife At Risk: Birds, squirrels, frogs, raccoons, and other small animals often wander into yards. Once in the water, slippery edges and steep walls make escape nearly impossible. Many drown simply because they exhaust themselves trying to climb out.

Invisible Threats: You might not always be there to witness an animal struggling. Overnight or when you're not home, tragedy can strike unnoticed.

The Simple Solution: A Pool Ramp

Installing a pet escape ramp is an easy, affordable, and life-saving option. These ramps float at the surface and allow animals to climb out safely on their own. Whether it’s your pet or a passing animal, having a visible exit can make all the difference.

Tips for Keeping Pools Safe for Pets and Wildlife:

Always leave a ramp in place when the pool isn’t in use.

Use pool covers carefully—some trap animals underneath instead of protecting them.

Install fencing or motion-sensing lights if wildlife frequently visits.

Check your pool regularly for signs of distress or wildlife in trouble.

Teach your pets where the ramp is and how to use it.

Compassion Doesn’t Cost Much

Taking this simple step shows care for your pets and respect for nature. A pool ramp might not seem like much, but to a tired animal trying to survive—it’s everything.

Protect lives. Add a ramp. Keep your pool safe for all. 🏊‍♂️⛑️🐾

HUGE thank you to the person who won a Canada Day gift card and bought pet food for us. That's so incredibly kind. It's very much appreciated! 😁💕

Dog food and toys will be going towards a dog coming in tomorrow who is emaciated and is going to need lots of love. Your kindness will help him get the care he needs.

We also helped feed some dogs and cats in need today, too!

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️IMPORTANT TIP FOR EVERYONE⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

AND GREAT TREAT

Never make the mistake of pouring cold water overheated dog or putting a wet towel on its back. You will see the opposite effect.

Due to cold, the veins contract and due to high temperatures (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood collide, causing the blood to become thick and tight.

Due to the combination of these two factors, blood stops entering the heart and organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.
The result is a very slow but very painful death.

If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, it will die anyway.

First give him lukewarm water to drink, then cool his feet and chest/belly with a wet towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a wet towel!!!

TREAT:
Frozen Pumpkin yogurt treat🐾

Ingredients:

½ cup fresh pumpkin purée
½ cup plain yogurt

Instructions:

Prepare the Mold:
Place your paw-shaped silicone mold on a baking tray. This makes it easy to move to the freezer without spilling.
Layer the Yogurt:
Spoon about a teaspoon of plain yogurt into each paw pad section of the mold. This creates that cute white contrast in the paw design.
Add the Pumpkin:
In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining yogurt with the pumpkin purée until smooth. Then spoon the mixture over the white yogurt layer in each mold cavity, filling them to the top.
Freeze Until Solid:
Place the tray with your mold into the freezer and let it set for at least 4–5 hours (or overnight for best results).
Serve and Store:
Once frozen, pop the treats out and serve immediately. You can store them in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to three weeks.

Let's keep them appropriate, please.
