The province is feeling the shortage in Vets and veterinary clinics with longer wait times for appointments and even many clinics not taking new patients. Now, more than ever before, it is so important to build a relationship with a trusted vet. This doesn't mean that we want you to make an appointment when your animal isn't needing one, it means that you will have planned ahead for when your pet does need one. Reaching out to us and starting a file over the phone is the first step!

Equine Cushing's Disease (Pars Pituitary Intermedia Dysfunction) is a progressive, degenerative disease of the hypothalamus in horses. Some early signs could be losing weight, slow or patchy shedding of winter coat, and lethargy. Some breeds are more predisposed and aging horses are also more at risk. Travelling this summer? Here's a checklist to help prepare for your vacation:
-Book your kennel in advance (if not travelling with them).
- Ensure your pet is up to date on there vaccines (do at least 2 weeks in advance)
- Contact us for your pets Dewormer, Tick and Heartworm prevention so they can be properly dosed to be protected before, during and after your vacation.

I had the privilege yet again to be the official veterinarian for the Edmonton First Responders Rodeo this weekend. Every year this event gets better and better.
