Listen to the breakdown of this video, it is 100% on point. Here is a professional dog handler who has chosen to not provide a safe situation for his dog. The only reason this was not worse is because of the dog, not the handler. If the dog really wanted to hurt the reporter he would have.

Two humans made huge mistakes, but it was the dog that was blamed in the overly dramatic reporting.

Moral of the story… it is your responsibility to protect your dog. If you do not, then your dog will. Unfortunately, this often leads to dogs being put down.

What does it take to attain this accreditation? The process is not simple. It takes about 16 months to complete the process and includes:
Well done MSAR
• interviews with people in your company,
• self assessment processes,
• assessing needs for change or improvement in existing processes then implementing changes if necessary,
•on site assessments over 2-5 days where the accreditation team observes your organization in action, interviews people within your organization and clients conducts a thorough review of documentation

🐾 Exciting News from MSAR Service Dogs! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that MSAR Service Dogs has added yet another Accreditation to our portfolio! 🎉

Not only are we Accredited for our Training, but we are now officially Accredited for our Governance & Management as well! This achievement reflects our dedication to the highest standards in every aspect of our organization—from the rigorous training of our service dogs to the way we operate behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to the Canadian Accreditation Council for their support and to their amazing staff who took the time to thoroughly assess our organization. Your recognition of our commitment to excellence means the world to us.

To our incredible team: GREAT JOB! Your hard work and unwavering passion for what we do is what makes this all possible. 🙌

At MSAR, we take immense pride in the high standards and exceptional training that go into every single service dog we provide. From their early socialization to their specialized training for unique disabilities, every dog is prepared with the care, skill, and professionalism that our clients deserve.

When considering a service dog, always ask these two questions:
1️⃣ Is the organization Accredited?
2️⃣ Can they prove it?

Not all programs are created equal, and Accreditation is your assurance of quality, trust, and results.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and believes in the life-changing impact of our service dogs. 🐕❤️

Does Your Dog Really Like Those Treats?

Let’s find out. Take 2 different treats and place them on the floor. Make sure that they are separated so that your dog can pass between them. Have your dog stationary (down is preferred) away from the treats, located so that there will be equal distance between the 2 treats as your dog approaches them. Release your dog and allow them to approach the treats. Which one did they go to first?

We will use 6-8 different treats; beef liver, beef lung, cheese, chicken and other treats. Then we have a treat tournament and allow our dogs to tell us what they like best. We then rank the treats, according to our dog’s preferences 1-8.

Their favorite treats are used in the more challenging and new training sessions.
