February 10, 2021 – Covid 19 - Regulation Update

As we transition from Emergency grooming only and out of the Stay at Home Order, please keep any pre-arranged appointments you have already been given and text, email, message or call to go on the list for an appointment.

As per the Feb 4th amendment, we are only allowed to provide "EMERGENCY" grooming. Cosmetic grooming is not yet allowed.
Only if heavy matting or extreme nail growth was going to force you to make a vet appt, can we now step in and make an appt to groom.
If you are concerned for your dogs welfare please call, email or message to discuss.
We remain hopeful that further changes will come soon to allow us to re-open and operate on a curbside basis.

Unfortunately, the information given by the MPP's office and Town of Cobourg's Website was incorrect as the Provincial Lockdown overrides their previous guidelines.
Dog Grooming is NOT allowed to be open.
I will be in touch to reschedule the existing January bookings & as soon as I'm able to reopen look forward to catching up with the ongoing care of your dogs.

Hi everyone.
I have confirmed that under the new Providence Wide Lockdown, dog grooming can stay open with curbside service in place! So for January and beyond, appointments will happen but will be spaced out. Please knock on the door and I will come out and take your dog from you and return your dog accordingly. Remember to wear a mask, use the sanitizer provided and we shall all stay safe. Please all do your best to have a lovely, if different, Christmas and we look forward to a much improved New Year for 2021.

Wind Damage/Hydro Update:
Looks like things are getting fixed and we will be back in action!

To everyone,
Due to the extreme winds yesterday that tore through our area we will be closed until power is restored. Unsure at this moment how many days we will have to remain shut but hydro says that it could be 3-4 days without power.

Don't normally attach videos but someone at Northumberland today took this showing the damage, you can see our white sign on front lawn behind all the downed lines.

We are safe, we will get though this and hope to see you all for grooming soon.

OPEN AGAIN by appointment only.
To help with social distancing, stick to both your appointment time & pick up time. IF another car is in the car park when you arrive, wait till they return to their car before you start to enter. Only ONE person to enter after having used the hand sanitizer provided and you will be asked to place your dog through the internal gate to the groomer and take the collar & leash back with you.

UPDATE: As a result of the Premier’s announcement today, dog groomers are allowed to OPEN by appointment only on Tuesday May 19th.

I will be calling clients starting with the ones which were cancelled due to the shutdown. It will take time to catch up, so please be patient but if you have not heard from me within a week, please call to make your appointment.

I am sure you all did your best to keep your dogs comfortable but it will be great to get them fully groomed and ready for the warmer weather which we are all hoping will come soon !

Still temp closed due to COVID19 till further notice.
THERE ARE CONFLICTING REPORTS ON WHETHER DOG GROOMING IS ALLOWED TO REOPEN. I WAS JUST TOLD BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES “ Dog groomers are not included in the opening of the curbside retailers today “ I AM WORKING TO GET CLARIFICATION NOW AND WILL UPDATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Still temp closed due to COVID19 till further notice.
A very restricted number of businesses are being allowed to open but we are NOT on the list.
As things improve, surely we shall be on the next list and be able to start scheduling appointments while complying with the safety measures required.
Fingers crossed, watch this space!

I am so sad to have to advise that Good Dog is now CLOSED due to the present Covid19 situation until further notice.

During this time of isolation, our dogs are going to play a very important role in helping our families weather this storm. They may be a welcome distraction from our problems, a playmate for the kids, company for someone living alone and of course they have such an innate ability to relieve our stress levels. So to all my clients, please look after them, enjoy them, brush them well and often and I hope it won’t be too long before I can again help you with their grooming care.

I’ll miss them all but please don’t hesitate to email me if you have news or questions about their care. When things start to improve, watch the Website and Facebook for when I am able to re-open but I will of course call you to advise.

At this time we DO have permission from the Health Unit Inspector TO STAY OPEN using precautions.
It is by appointment only, no walk ins and not taking new clients unless a new puppy. We will be pre-screening by calling clients the day before the appointment to check they are eligible (ie. not sick or in quarantine) to be out. We will be spacing appointments so it is strictly one person at a time and ask that you stick to the appointment time and pick up time to help with that.

If another customers car is in the car park when you arrive, wait for them to return to their car before you start to enter. Only one person to enter at a time and you will be asked to place your dog through the internal gate to the groomer and take the collar and leash back with you.

If possible please pay by E. Transfer.

Obviously if you are sick or within a 14 day isolation due to returning from abroad, please cancel your appointment ahead of time.

Covid19 - UPDATE
We have posted notices saying we are not open to the public, no walk ins, by appointment only. At this time we are not taking on any new clients. We are not scheduling any new appointments only trying to service the immediate ones we have on a day to day basis.

During the present COVID-19 situation I am now using extra cleaning precautions as recomended

PLEASE NOTE: If you are sick OR have been out of country and have apointments within your self isolation period please get in touch for reschedule.

Being the only groomer already limits contact. I can come outside to take your dog from the vehicle and then return your dog to your vehicle if necessary for anyone who has to be extra cautious.
