Well all in all Cooey had 5 cowboy corgi pups in total yesterday afternoon/evening!! 1 black and 4 very different marked reds. I included a couple pictures of the dad (Jed), which is a registered pembroke corgi, just so you can see the parents both with the pups. One pup is currently spoken for, other than that I’ll start taking deposits on the pups in a week or two once they’re a bit older and stronger.
I’ve recently had a number of people ask what a cowboy corgi is, and simply it’s a heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) bred to a corgi. When you breed anything to a corgi, it ends up corgi size or slightly bigger, most of the time with a little longer leg, but not always. One of the reasons I like using Jed to breed my corgi Tikka, and Cooey to is that he has great confirmation and his legs are in portion. I’m really looking forward to watching these pups grow because Cooey has a tall leg, and lean frame and I think they’re going to cross great to having an almost (key word almost) normal leg 😂 and athletic body. Cowboy corgis make great family dogs, combining both the loyalty of the corgi and the heeler, they’ll always be at your side. You’re also able to use them for work if you’d like because corgis were originally used for cattle and sheep as well. This cross will put them lower and work like a heeler if you’d like. But, even after working them they’ll come home and jump into your kids lap and be their best friend.
If you’re still not sold on a cowboy corgi for your family, simply google “cowboy corgi puppies” and you’ll be sold. Feel free to message after googling them to be out on the list for this litter 😂😁
