Went for an evening walk tonight with the Rundle, Summit, and my neighbor’s dogs Zoey, and Penny (Summit’s puppy). Rundle peaking up over the other dogs just kills me. She’s such a you go first, I’ll get there dog, and Summit is all me me me me me! All such individuals and fun personalities. Great evening!

So thrilled for our first puppy Cassie who went 2/2 at her first scent trial yesterday! She was so excited to be there. You can tell she loooves working with her mama! Congratulations Cassie 🎉

I found out from my friend yesterday that there is a CKC trial every month from Jan to April!!! We might have to miss the one in Edmonton in March due to Summit going in heat, but otherwise we are going to have a lot of fun early 2025 before we breed Summit for her last litter Fall 2025.

I had the pleasure meeting Nancy Talbott at a seminar put on by the Golden Retriever Club of Alberta earlier this year. To say that she made an impact would be an understatement. Today, we are celebrating 7-month old Maui, who just earned his first CKC Novice scent title with his dad . I have no doubt this is the first of many titles they will receive together! So proud of our Rundlemtn puppies and their families!

OMG! This picture is everything!! Our first born, with our second born - “half sisters,” living in neighbour states got to meet at an Omaha agility trial. This is such a big part of why I breed - the community! Meeting like-minded people that you may otherwise never have met, and bringing them together in one big extended family 🥲.

Super proud of my girl, Summit. This weekend she earned her Scent Detection Excellent title! She found all 3 hides and ignored the distractors searching containers, interiors and exteriors. After a full sweep on the Saturday, we moved up into the Masters level for Sunday. The hides were very challenging, and only 1 dog ending up getting a Q in the containers category out of all the Masters dogs. I was glad for the experience because I got to see the things I need to teach Summit in order to qualify at a Masters level: learn clove scent, teach inaccessible hides, teach containers using multiple sources, have her clear empty rooms/containers. She did super well, and I think Masters will be totally achievable for us when we get another chance to compete. It was an incredible weekend!

We just got back from vacation in Maui. But, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the success of two Rundlemtn puppies. This past weekend Icy from got her Working Certificate.🎉 And Maui from got his scent interiors and containers qualifiers towards his Novice Scent title. 🥳 Such impressive work from 6.5 month old puppies. Their families are doing such a great job with them!

OMG it was a hot one this weekend. And with tricky courses my brain could hardly function well enough to lead Summit through the courses! That said she turned it out and brought home two new titles - Excellent Jumpers with Weavers (JWW) and Steeplechase! We are now at the Masters level in JWW, and starting her run for a championship! We still need two more q’s in Excellent Standard to be totally on our way to a CH, but if Summit keeps running as well as she is or better, it shouldn’t be too long away 🤞
