What a way to ring in the new year! The Spray Lakes Sawmill Events Centre along with the Cochrane and Area Events Society hosted a wonderful evening full of fun things to do! From face painting to skating to eye catching spectacles it truly was a blast to spend the evening there! And what a way to end the night, and the year, with a phenomenal firework show!

A good fitting saddle is a must when it comes to riding horses! Thank you so much to K&K Saddlery for having me out last week to fit some of their saddles to Duke and Chica! So excited to carry on my year riding with Duke in our new saddle and even more excited to work with my young mare whoās starting her rodeo queening journey too! The CPKC Holiday Train rolled into Cochrane yesterday, and what a fun time it was!
The crowd was full of Christmas cheer and as I walked around greeting people I couldnāt help but feel the excitement in the air. Live music, lights and even a marriage proposal made it an extra special afternoon.
Many generous food donations were made to the Cochrane Food Bank, and the Holiday Train presented the food bank with a cheque for $4000.

November was filled to the brim with activity! With so many exciting events, I was on the go a lot, and I loved every second of it. I met so many new people, and the time spent with them brings a smile to my face.
Some very memorable events I attended included; The Poppy Tea, Cochrane Remembrance Day Ceremonies, The Cochrane Christmas Market, and The Cochrane Light Up! Along with these events I got to visit two of my wonderful sponsors! Cindy owner of @lacycowgirlcompany and Jace owner of @jacethorsteinson! Both of them are so generous and Iām excited to cross paths with them throughout the rest of the year!

I had the best day participating with the Cochrane Activettes and Cochrane and Area Event Society at their annual Stuff-A-Bus event! Itās truly heartwarming to see how generous our community is at this time of year, particularly to such a worthy cause. It was nice to see so many smiling faces today while sharing in Christmas cheer!

What an amazing night at the Cochrane Light Up!!!
Every year, Cochrane hosts a wonderful āLight Upā to kick off the holiday season. I canāt think of a better way to get the holiday season started than spending time together as a community!
I loved walking around and getting to greet everyone! Enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate, sharing the warmth of a fire, and watching fireworks was a fantastic way to end the evening.
It was especially nice to meet all of the volunteers who make the light up happen every year! I was also able to spend some time with our Cochrane Lions, and Iām always so proud to be a small part of their organization.
I hope everyone stays warm and had an amazing night! Iām looking forward to making many more memories together at events this holiday season āļø

Today, I had the great honor of standing alongside Lion Darren Begg to lay a wreath in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to the Town of Cochrane and the Cochrane Legion for creating a space to honor the men and women who have served and shaped this beautiful country. Today and always, let us remember and thank those who fought for these lands. Lest we forget. Grateful and blessed, Lacey Blouin, Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen 2025
Wow what a night at the Stockmens Foundation dinner and auction! It was truly a night to remember, and I am so grateful for the invite to attend! It was amazing to meet with so many wonderful members of the Stockmens foundation and I got to learn about all the parts that play into the Stockmens foundation! I was even lucky enough to view a new lifelong member be inducted into the Stockmens foundation! Throughout the night there was good conversation, delightful food, wonderful speeches given by Stockmens members and the Minister of Agriculture! I also couldnāt be more thankful for the Lions Club whoās table I was seated at and had a wonderful evening spending time with! Grateful and blessed, Lacey Blouin, Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen 2025
It has been a true honour to be your 2024 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen. Representing a group of people who love and care for those around them is a truly unique experience, and for that Iām so grateful!
As I pass the torch to our next Queen, Iām so excited to watch as she too has a fantastic year full of memory and adventure.

Grateful beyond words for Janineās Custom Creationsā support on my journey as the 2024 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen! Janineās dedication to crafting unique pieces, like my new stunning, red, Canadian shirt, reflects all her endless talents. My genuine reaction upon unveiling this masterpiece was pure joy ā a feeling I can't wait to share as I fly the fringe this summer!
With the recent dump of spring snow, Iāve been reminiscing of warmer weather and sleepy horses, especially those dressed in a custom halter from D&J Custom Halters!
Iāve been extremely blessed to have the sponsorship and support from Julie at D&J Custom Halters who designed my gorgeous purple halter for horse, Duce! Julie knew that Duce couldnāt have all her talents to himself, so I was also gifted matching beaded earrings to match. Her artful eye and attention to details has Duce and I looking forward to conquering the 2024 rodeo season in style
