Gone Wild Kennels was established as a dog boarding facility by Dave and Jackie Lovell in 2004. We are located approximately 13 kms northwest of Cochrane, Alberta. Our family run dog kennel caters to all types of dogs, big and small. In the fall of 2010 we expanded the business to include CATS and renovated our old house. We have the state of the art air filtration and I challenge you to find a be

tter CAT boarding facility in the Calgary area!!! Our philosophy is to create an environment where your four legged family member is safe, happy, has plenty of activity and is well socialized. The 6 large open areas promote play and interaction between all of our guests. Each kennel is set up with a door to allow access to the inside and outside for each of our guests. The inside portion of each kennel is 5 feet by 6 feet and heated for your pets comfort. The outside portion of each kennel is 18 feet long by 5 feet wide. There is no doubling up of dogs in our kennels; however dogs from the same family will have plenty of space when sharing a kennel. We prefer to have a maximum of three dogs in each kennel from the same family, depending on the size of the dogs. Gone Wild Kennels believes that if we have a friendly, active environment for our guests, they are much happier and far less stressed about being away from their family. All of our dogs have play time in the play areas at least three times a day for approximately an hour each time. Because the areas are safe and secure, we are able to spend more time with the dogs outside of their individual kennels. We hope that with a higher level of activity and our interaction with our guests, they will relax and enjoy their time in our kennels.

This is a probiotic that gives your dog better gut health. Aiden has been on every flavor of dog food and still doesn't have a firm poo. I chatted up a couple of people I know who are in the industry and recommended me to go this direction.

It has been 2 years since we raised our boarding fees .
Many of the other boarding facilities only let their clients out for 1 or 2 playtime, and they are short. As most know, my clients are out 5 plus hours daily with no up charges as some kennels do charge for extra playtime or leash walks !

We are filling up for the Christmas / New Years and receiving many requests for the first quarter of 2025.

I am looking forward to meeting more new cat and dog clients. Thank you to all my regular clients for supporting GWK. Look forward to many more laughs and hugs from my human clients and their furry family members.

Last night's 2 big storms were awesome.

Saturday Weather improving

Life on a farm, and you have a dog boarding facility. Yes , we see wildlife all the time ! Deer , moose , elk , etc.

This is what happened a couple of days ago. Massive herd of elk that split prior to coming over the hill numbered in the 700 plus. The other part of this herd is appox 300 plus. 50% of the cow elk will have babies. Do the math.... that's appox 1400 - 1500 elk next June. With this brutal cold sweeping through , I will not be posting any pictures as it's simply to darn cold to take pictures. With predictions coming in at - 40 with the windchill, I'm more worried about my dogs and cats clients than taking a couple of pictures. Stay warm and watch your dog outside ! It's going to get nasty out ! Yes, please share with your friends and family . You will not see this again. I can almost guarantee you that. 21 years we have lived here, and it's the first time this craziness happened. Watch the speed of the elk ripping by the horses and then leaping over a fence and gravel road.
