Last night's 2 big storms were awesome.

Life on a farm, and you have a dog boarding facility. Yes , we see wildlife all the time ! Deer , moose , elk , etc.

This is what happened a couple of days ago. Massive herd of elk that split prior to coming over the hill numbered in the 700 plus. The other part of this herd is appox 300 plus. 50% of the cow elk will have babies. Do the math.... that's appox 1400 - 1500 elk next June. With this brutal cold sweeping through , I will not be posting any pictures as it's simply to darn cold to take pictures. With predictions coming in at - 40 with the windchill, I'm more worried about my dogs and cats clients than taking a couple of pictures. Stay warm and watch your dog outside ! It's going to get nasty out ! Yes, please share with your friends and family . You will not see this again. I can almost guarantee you that. 21 years we have lived here, and it's the first time this craziness happened. Watch the speed of the elk ripping by the horses and then leaping over a fence and gravel road.

The noise you here is all the bee's fanning their wings. Making my way through the swarm trying to find the queen. They were fanning heavily so I'm sure I caught the queen.

Start of the rain / hail. Lasted appox 30 mins. So far

Looks like a landspout to me. Stuck around for a good 5 mins then disappeared. I understand through a friend there was a warning posted. It was indeed a land spout tornado.

We had a visitor late last night. Dogs or cats are never in harms way as they were done exercising way before the grizzly showed up. They will never ever show up in the area where they hear commotion. They are looking for fawn deer or baby elk. The grizzly looks way to comfortable at our farm ! Not in a rush to go anywhere fast. Contacted fish and wildlife this morning and I have a call with them after the dogs are done this morning. Will be considering all options when I talk to Cochrane fish and wildlife as this grizzly showed up 4 days ago. I'm guessing it's a 4 or 5 day loop she or he does. I'm guessing it's a small female but she is large in my eyes. I will post a couple still pictures after this video.

No discrimination with these 2 puppies. Aiden at 5 months old and just over 60 lbs going hard with Molly 7.5 month old at maybe 40 lbs soakin wet. Molly loves to get it on with any willing dog that is not aggressive.

This is how Aiden and Stone get it on. Stone has to realize Aiden is going to be 4 - 5 times Stones weight by the time Aiden is 2 years old. As long as there is no aggression, I don't have an issue with rough play.

Just a reminder we do run a business and not a charity ! Our dog boarding prices are firm with zero negotiating! Does a family go out for dinner and tell the wait staff , I would like a cheaper price on this steak and lobster dinner I'm going to order . Seriously how does one person have the cajohns to ask that absolutely silly question. If you have an inquiry on boarding your dog or cat and you get a " yes " we have space , you need to send an etransfer by that date or sooner. If I don't receive it on that given date you have a good chance I have a wait list with others willing to send payment. Well this happened this morning. Client waited as long as possible and decided to go with a friend or family member and not send an etransfer. Well their plan backfired and wants to send payment...... SORRY we do not work that way ! We have been operating our facility since early 2004 with many long time clients that have used our facility for last 17 or 18 years now. Some people cease to amaze me. 99% of my clients know what I expect and it's that 1% that think they are above everyone else. Those people are quietly taken off my preferred client list and can source another facility to board their animals. We do not have any room at our facility from the middle of March until April 13th as of yesterday. I'm sure those dates will change. Have a fantastic weekend.

Love my potato ( Stone ) he is a great uncle to all these puppies. Reminder Stone is still a puppy at 8 moths old.

This is from the Winston heights monster swarm I captured July 17th. No where to call home , so I gave them a new pad. Look how much work one colony of bee's can do in 1 month. If they can survive over winter this hive will be incredible for spring 2023.

Life in my brain and body. Closer to 60 then 55 years of age and still going strong. Dogs and cats finished at 10.30 and then I headed to Coventry hills to do a honey bee ( CUT OUT ) in a condo. This was an established colony appox 3 years in this condo. 3.5 hours later I removed appox 70 plus pounds of honey comb ( not for human consumption ) as it has insulation in the comb. Super sad once I seen it. Used my fantastic bee vacuum my father in law built for me. Sucked up 20000 - 30000 possible much more this afternoon. I will be returning to the condo after the dogs are done this evening too clean up all the foraging bee's that were out and about collecting food. I'm sure there will be many more to be vacuumed up at dusk. The good thing is , I'm 90% sure I did suck up the queen in the bee vac as there was many bees clinging on the outside of the bee bucket fanning like crazy. Pictures late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends how tired I will be and absolutely I do it to myself ! This is not a paid gig . They are giving me gas money and it's to help the bee's.

I love this slo - motion video of the swarm I captured. I will make sure I post another video in a week to 10 days on how this swarm is or isn't progressing. I set another honey super on top of the 3 deep boxes lastnight.
