Winter Dog Care Tips 🐾❄️☃️🧣🧤

1. Maintain Regular Exercise
-Even in cold months, dogs, especially high-energy breeds like Golden Retrievers, need regular exercise to stay physically and mentally healthy.
-Be prepared to brave the cold for their well-being.

2. Indoor Training to Combat Boredom
-Short, daily training sessions indoors help keep dogs engaged when outdoor time is limited.
-Use commercial breaks during TV time for quick training sessions. Keep treats and training tools ready to make the process seamless.

3. Start Your Day Earlier
-Adjust your schedule to fit in a morning walk before daylight fades.
-Combine walks with training by rewarding good leash behavior and keeping them engaged with treats.

4. Prevent Ice-Related Accidents
-Hold the leash securely with both hands on slippery surfaces to prevent falls.
-Keep walks shorter on icy days to reduce risk.

5. Protect Their Paws
-Trim the hair between paw pads to prevent snow buildup.
-Carry a towel to clean paws after walks and avoid discomfort.

6. Beware of Ice Melts (salt)

-Ice melts can irritate paws or cause stomach upset if ingested.
-Rinse paws with warm water after walks and provide fresh water at home.
