Yesterday our teams joined forces and walked for the Farley Foundation. We are proud to say we raised $2000 in donations, along with the $1500 in matching donations Collingwood Active Pets will be donating for a total of $3500. As we have said many times the Farley Foundation is a charity that is very close to our hearts, helping pets in need when owners are facing financial hardship. We could not have done any of this without the support of all our lovely staff, clients and everyone else that donated! Thank you again for all your support!

Today is the big day! And we saved the best for last! Dr. Pankatz is not only a veterinarian but also the visionary behind Mountain Vista, CAPs, and Collingwood Vet Services. Although you may not see her frequently in the clinic, she dedicates her time to traveling to other clinics across South Georgian Bay, where she performs ultrasounds daily. When she’s not working, Dr. Pankatz enjoys exploring the scenic beauty of Georgian Bay with her two companions, Betty and Wilma.

We are just two days away from our Farley run/walk! Today, we would like to highlight two valued members of our team: veterinary technician Candace and veterinary assistant Claire.
Candace has been with Mountain Vista for five years. Known as the “mom” of the group, she ensures that both staff and clients feel comfortable throughout the day. Candace will be joined by her dog, Bourbon, during the walk. In addition to Bourbon, she manages a small hobby farm where she cares for horses, cows, and chickens.
Claire is another indispensable member of our staff, always striving to bring a smile to everyone’s face and regularly checking in with colleagues. You may see Claire in various roles, whether at reception, assisting in surgeries, or supporting doctors during consultations.

Mr Moe is here to remind everyone even as we age exercise plays a very important role in our lives. Moe started swimming in the spring and his owners noticed that his mobility started to improve, now that the weather is getting cooler they wanted to continue his weekly swims indoors. Moe was an absolute star for his first time in the pool.

For our next staff highlight, we’re pleased to feature Ciera, one of our dedicated Registered Veterinary Technicians at both Mountain Vista and Collingwood Veterinary Services. When Ciera isn’t at work, she enjoys hiking with her two dogs, Lola and Tilly, or paddle boarding at the beach. Ciera is also passionate about the Farley Foundation, ensuring that every pet receives the assistance they need. Our next staff member feature highlights another familiar face at CAPs: Lyndsey, our Rehabilitation Assistant. Lyndsey has a background in human physiotherapy and occupational therapy, having worked on the brain injury unit of a children’s hospital before joining our team at CAPs. Accompanying her is Miss Clementine, her energetic sidekick, who adds a touch of humor and keeps Lyndsey on her toes. Can you believe this boy is almost 16 years old? Meet Jeffery, one of our newest clients! He’s been coming in for therapeutic exercise, acupuncture and hydrotherapy, but today was extra special – his new wheels arrived! Jeffery was diagnosed with IVDD back in October, and after some rest, his vet recommended rehabilitation and hydrotherapy. His rehab plan includes specific therapeutic exercises & sensory stimulation geared towards improving his balance & strength along with pain and neurostimulation through acupuncture. All of Jeffrey’s hard work, along with some added support from elastic foot loops & the power of water have allowed Jeffrey to WALK in the underwater treadmill! Jeffrey is wheelin’ & water walking his way to renewed strength & independence!
