Owning a dog should be fun.... Life Skills for you and your Dog
A bit about me .... I have been training dogs professionally for 17+ years and I am a former owner of a Doggy Daycare, Grooming and Training Facility. I am a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and prior to that I graduated from the Animal Behavior College, Professional Dog Training Program. I am a member of the APDT -Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the CAPDT -Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers. I am the Volunteer Pawd (Chapter) Leader for ElderDog Collingwood,ON as well as being a member of St. John Ambulance and the Therapy Dog Program with ‘Andy’ one of my yellow labs.
I believe that all dogs deserve the right to learn in a force free environment. Where they can thrive in acquiring behaviors using a system of Positive Reinforcement Training. You can train your dog to do anything from simple manners you can be proud of on the street to awesome head turning tricks. Simply put, We use a Clicker or Verbal marker to Signal the Desired Behavior + A Reward. We are reinforcing (with a prize!) the desirable behavior with anything that your dog finds super rewarding - Toys, treats, snuggles, a ride in the car, a sniff of a bush, a stroll in the park, praise! Dogs are very quick to catch onto this method and find it to be a lot of fun and very rewarding!!
You will build an incredibly strong bond with your dog and find that the time you spend with your dog will be so much more enjoyable for you, your dog and your whole family!!
Private Training - I work with you, developing your dog training skills so that you can be confident that your dog is succeeding in building his manners and life skills with you on the other end of the leash. Training can be as much about your dog acquiring skills as it is about you, your skills and your confidence level.
