HAPPY TAILS – Harper (now Milllie)

Millie is doing amazing!!! She loves chewing on her teddy bears and ice cubes, zooming in circles around the dog park, and of course her most favorite thing to do is snuggle right up to us after a big adventure!

Thank you so much for helping us connect with our sweet little Millie Moo, she has been everything we dreamed of and more ❤

Happy tail wags from Millie, and many thanks!

This week's GTHS Pet of the Week is Fish!

Fish is a confident, outgoing and playful 3-year-old boy! Fish is a big fan of dogs and has been known to play with them in his previous home. He likes attention until he is done with it and then he will let you know he has had enough. He has been described as a lap cat and a couch potato who is also a lot of fun! Fish does not like other cats and would prefer to be the only star of the show in his new home.

HAPPY TAILS – Peaches (now Harley) and Maize (now Quinn)

We absolutely love our new little family!! We have renamed Peaches to Harley, and Maize to Quinn............as in Harley Quinn 😀

They are a handful, but the greatest little kittens. They are so bonded, they sleep together all the time, and at night they sleep with me. Harley seems to be the one that needs to be close to the body more so that Quinn, but it's not long before Quinn joins Harley wherever she is. We've had them for a month now, time really flies.

We wanted to send a special thanks to everyone at the GTHS for all their hard work and for everything they do for the animals that come under their care.

Meet Samson! This 10-month-old pup is full of energy and shenanigans, but rest assured, he’s already hard at work to become the best doggo he can be! His 2025 resolutions include keeping focused on his training (and he’s already killin’ it), letting those adorrrrable puppy dog eyes shine (like he needs to try harder 🙄), and to be cool - as in keeping some chill when he meets new dogs and people. He’s already had some great progress in that department (and we might be biased, but we think he’s a cool guy 😎).

Samson will be a 🐶 great companion 🐾 to anyone who is able to give this puppy the right training and positive reinforcement! He’s smart and willing to learn, and is learning quickly. You can learn more about whether your home might be a great fit for this handsome fella during our daily adoption hours from 12pm-4pm, when our incredible tram of Adoptions Counsellors can answer questions and walk you through the adoption process. You can read Samson’s profile at any time by visiting gths.ca/dogs-for-adoption. Share this post to help us find Samson his perfect match!

Hey there, it’s Bruno here! I’ve been with my GTHS family for 156 days now, getting all the love, belly rubs, and snacks I could dream of while waiting for my new family. But I’m not the only one who needs help—so many other pets are waiting for their second chance, just like me.

Your donation right now can go TWICE as far! There’s a $10K match happening, and we need to raise $60K by today to help more pets get the care they need.

Can you help give that gift to more furry friends? Don’t wait—visit gths.ca/donatenow to give and be a lifesaver! 🐾

Our Story

Our Mission – The Georgian Triangle Humane Society is a not-for-profit charity in the South Georgian Bay area. Our mission is to deliver innovative programs and compassionate services that enhance the lives of pets in need and the people that care for them.

Our Vision – We dream and work towards a world in which there are no stray, unwanted, abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals by building awareness of animal welfare, and promoting responsible pet ownership.

The vision for the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, and the organization’s Shelter building, started in 1999 and The Collingwood and District Humane Society was born. In later years, the Collingwood and District Humane Society was changed to Georgian Bay Animal Rescue, and then ultimately The Georgian Triangle Humane Society, which it remains today.

The original vision was to have a building where the organization could house, help and adopt cats and dogs to forever homes. So, while volunteers rescued, cared for and placed cats and dogs in adoptive homes, they also began the massive project to build a shelter.
