HAPPY TAILS – Groundskeeper Willie (now Venom)

Groundskeeper Willie, who now goes by Venom, is the sweetest gift I have ever received. He is the cuddliest and sweetest little guy in the world, and I’m so thankful to you for providing him to me. ☺️

He’s come right out of his shell, and I’m pretty sure he thinks my bed is his bed now. God forbid I’m not in bed by the time he wants to sleep. He turns into a grumpy little man when he doesn’t get his nightly snuggles when he wants them. He also LOVES his window; anytime I leave the room he goes up in the window for hours on end.

Everyone in my house just adores him so much. I just cannot thank you enough for this wonderful boy and helping him settle in so well with your support. 😌 We’re both so happy. He’s my very best friend and I can’t imagine a world without him now. Here’s a picture of the cuddle monster. Thanks again! ☺️

Meet Savvy! This 3.5-year-old gentleman is looking for a home to settle into where he can have all of his greatest joys in life: chin rubs, sunny naps, and wand toys. He is eager to have a space with a few less kitty friends than our main cat room. Savvy is the perfect mix of independence, energy, and affection and he has the most beautiful, soft fur. He's a great candidate for any home, since he gets along with other cats, dogs, and kids.

You can meet Savvy during our daily adoption hours from 12pm-4pm. Or, you can read his profile at any time by visiting gths.ca/cats-for-adoption

This week's GTHS Pet of the Week is Solar!

Solar is an 11-month-old handsome orange kitty with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. He’s incredibly affectionate and thrives on human attention—he’ll meow softly and rub against your legs to make sure he gets all the love he craves. Some of Solar’s favorite pastimes include chasing toy balls, rolling around in catnip, and soaking up as much affection as possible from his humans. He does wonderfully with kids and other cats but would prefer a home without dogs. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and cuddly companion, Solar might be the perfect fit.

To learn more about Solar, please visit: https://gths.ca/cats-for-adoption/

Meet the new kids in town! Humphrey (photo 1) and Lauren (photo 2) are two young pups ready to take on the world! Both are 4 months old, and are looking for families that are willing to be patient with them as they navigate the world around them as puppies.

Humphrey is working really hard at being brave in new situations and around new people, and is looking for a family who can help him see all of the amazing things in the world around him. Humphrey also appreciates having a confident dog sibling who can show him the ropes. Because he is still working through being fearful in new situations, Humphrey should have a fenced in yard, and a home with older kids who can understand his needs and be patient with him.

Lauren is full of love and joy, and is a pup that is looking for a home where her new family will help her be the best dog she can be through continued training and positive reinforcement! She is a very social dog who enjoys play time kids and people. She hasn't had as many introductions to cats or kids, but our Adoptions Counsellors can talk through those introductions with you.

If you're considering adding a new furry best friend to your house, you can learn more about Humphrey and Lauren by stopping by during our daily adoption hours from 12pm-4pm. Our incredible Adoptions Team can answer any questions you might have and help you discover whether one of these pups might be a great fit in your household. Or, you can read about them at any time by visiting gths.ca/dogs-for-adoption.

HAPPY TAILS – Wedge, Tator, and Ruta (now Enzo, Rosie, and Olive)

A few of the "potato pups" get together with their mama for hikes!

We are having monthly potato puppy walks. The puppies are almost 6 months old now. Enzo is bigger than Rosie, and Olive, their mama joins as well. They love each other and it is so cute having them all together! Their foster comes sometimes too, which is fun.

Thanks for giving them all such a great start!

Meet Batman, Panther, and Ruby! These three cats aren't likely to seek the spotlight when potential adopters walk into the room, so it's easy for them to get overlooked.

🦇 Batman lives up to his name by preferring to watch the world from his perch or his Bat Cave, and is looking for a family who can give him quiet space. He'd appreciate another cat for company.

🐈‍⬛ Panther is a senior gentleman, who is extra-sweet, and loves being around cats and people - kids too! He's looking for a comfy, cozy place to live out his best years with his people.

💎 And Ruby takes some time to warm up to a new relationship, but once she does, she is the sweetest! She loves to curl up, and a delicious treat. She'd appreciate older kids in the house, and would also be open to another cat around who can show her the ropes.

You can meet any of these amazing, but quieter, cats during our daily adoption hours from 12pm-4pm. Or, you can read their adoption profiles at any time by visiting gths.ca/cats-for-adoption 🐾

Our Story

Our Mission – The Georgian Triangle Humane Society is a not-for-profit charity in the South Georgian Bay area. Our mission is to deliver innovative programs and compassionate services that enhance the lives of pets in need and the people that care for them.

Our Vision – We dream and work towards a world in which there are no stray, unwanted, abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals by building awareness of animal welfare, and promoting responsible pet ownership.

The vision for the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, and the organization’s Shelter building, started in 1999 and The Collingwood and District Humane Society was born. In later years, the Collingwood and District Humane Society was changed to Georgian Bay Animal Rescue, and then ultimately The Georgian Triangle Humane Society, which it remains today.

The original vision was to have a building where the organization could house, help and adopt cats and dogs to forever homes. So, while volunteers rescued, cared for and placed cats and dogs in adoptive homes, they also began the massive project to build a shelter.
