Hi everyone,

I wanted to take this time to thank everyone for their support and ongoing efforts as Counterpart Service Dogs by Train Paw-Z-Ative was founded and created to provide a family and safe environment for those who needed it.

At this time we are closing our doors. Values have changed within our team members and I have and always will strive to do what's best for my clients and dogs, while providing a healthy and safe environment for everyone and anyone who needs an ear to listen.

We would like to give out a huge Shout out to the Pembroke Regional Hospital and they're amazing staff that was working in the ER department last night, March 30th.

Hospital visits can be scary and overwhelming not only for the human but for the dog too. Imagine being in a loud, busy environment that isn't familiar to you. You don't really know whats going on, just that your human is sick and needs you. But you see and hear everyone coming in and out, heavy doors constantly being open and closed, loud voices over the overhead speaker, foot traffic all around you all while trying to keep your human calm.

Last night one of our teams had to pay a visit to her local ER. Luna was feeling a bit overwhelmed being in a new busy environment while trying to figure out her humans emotions. Since the hospital is somewhere we don't typically visit often, everything was so new and loud for Luna. While we were waiting to be seen, we took advantage of some training time. The Drs and nurses helped tremendously with the sight and sounds of a busy ER. Some of the nurses and drs who were working very hard got to meet Luna, who was able to leave a big smile on all there faces. Thank you for making a not so fun situation a bit more bearable. You guys went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and happy and we can't thank you guys enough ❤️

We all have those funny oh no moments while in training. Co-Owner/trainer Tracy had her fair share of this the other day at her MRI appointment. Before heading in she put tobias in a sit and stay and handed the leash over to the second handler. Tobias thought that since it was going to be a 20min appointment that he should keep his Mom's seat nice and warm for when she returned. 🥰❤️😆

Update from Team Barrie!

Team Faline, Team Shade and Team Freya are working hard on public access and learning to work around other dogs. We are very proud of how far they've come. Team work makes the dream work!

Training with others not only boosts the handlers confidence, but the dogs too. Working alone in unfamiliar places can be overwhelming or scary for a dog ( and handler) but having someone they can look up too and follow in their footsteps gives them the confidence they need to do it on their own❤️🥰

Introducing our newest team member, Millie!

After alot of hard work, Millie passed her vest test today! She has been working hard with her Dad and Mom to get to where she is today! Millie is learning to help her Dad in everyday activities. After passing her test, Millie ran proudly to her Mom showing off her new vest.

Congratulations Millie, we are so very proud of you and we can't wait to take you and your family on your next steps!

Introducing our newest trainer, Candice! She is joining our team as a trainer in the Barrie area.

A little bit about herself..

"I have my diploma for Veterinary Technician and have worked in the pet industry for over 10 years in pet stores as an employee and a store manager. I have worked in and managed dog daycares and boarding facilities that were cage free. I was responsible for evaluating the behaviour of the dogs to ensure compatibility and maintaining the peace among the pack. I’ve had many of my own dogs, mainly German shepherds, and have participated in agility, obedience training and therapy dog work prior to starting our service dog journey"

Candice started her service dog journey with us and now wants to take her extra knowledge and help others who are in need. We are so excited and proud to welcome her to the family!!

Hi guys and gals it's Tracy from Ontario. One of our up and coming Counterpart's family has had a medical set back. I've been training with Zeus and his owner/handler for a bit now. They're at the stage of their vest test. I'm asking anyone and everyone to please send out prayers, good vibes, or just positive energy for Zeus's human to get better soon. Counterpart Service Dogs wish Zeus and his human family best wishes, prayers, positive thoughts and vibes for a speedy recovery. 😊🙏💖

We would like to welcome Kevin,his wife Andrea and Millie to our service dog family! We are excited to see Millie grow and bond with Kevin. We all have our own story but like Kevin's shirt says, his story has been life changing. Counterpart Service Dogs wants to show Kevin that his story doesn't have to end badly, that this is just the beginning to a new life that he is creating for himself. We are blessed and thankful to be apart of their journey and for them to be apart of Counterpart's family (pack). The best is yet to come Kevin!!❤️ Welcome 😊

Counterpart loves Smoochy Poochy products so much we brought it to Vancouver Island! Pawsitive Dog Walking and Day care is now the new home of some amazing Canadian made products!!! Come check them out during office hours so the staff can help you out!

Watch your pups. Want to walk them? Walk them early in the morning or later in the evening after the sun goes down. If you don't have AC and they are warm inside wet down a towel and lay it on them. Want a fun activity for them to do outside get a round bucket from the $store fill it with water put fresh fruit in it and freeze it give it to them as a treat outside or go to your local pet store and see if they have the new dog freebies!!!! Always make sure they have shade and plenty of water!!!
