Every dog must have its day and that day is Saturday, August 31, at the Courtenay Outdoor Pool at Lewis Park. Courtenay Recreation is hosting a dog swim, the season's last event before the pool closes for the winter. Bring your favourite pooch for some fun in the sun.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is $5, with all proceeds donated to our local SPCA. Proof of rabies vaccination is required for each dog, so be sure to get those ready ahead of time.
The big pool will be open for dogs of all shapes and sizes. The wading pool remains closed for maintenance and will not be available. Dogs must be friendly to attend. Sorry hoomans, only dogs will be allowed in the pool during the dog swim.
The friendly staff from Van Isle Veterinary Clinic will be on-site to ensure the safety of all furry swimmers, and Woofy’s Pet Foods will have pet-friendly giveaways.
