With our lettuce program back in full swing again it almost feels like we're whole again, but not so fast...

We love our microgreens and LOVE our lettuce back on the menu again but we're also working on other variety's of lettuce to compliment our Romaine.
Although it not quite ready to be on the menu just yet, the early stages are looking fantastic.
The weather has been very cooperative lately but with things still in construction mode we're battling heat exhaustion inside the greenhouse so there's still plenty of work to be done... operating a greenhouse is a lot of work but something that we've been working towards for quite some time, just have to manage the heat fluctuations.
We will have a limited supply of romaine lettuce this week so if you'll be needing any be sure to get your order in early, and if we're not able to fulfill your lettuce order have plenty of delicious microgreens available.

This month marks our 5 year anniversary on this unforgettable journey.

When we started our little enterprise we had no idea where we are going or how long it would last but what we did know is that it would be worth every sweat, tear, laugh, and just about every emotion there is.
What started with just 3 trays of growing microgreens in our kitchen, going through a pandemic and still making things work, getting through all the doubts and fears, unbelievable growth in our side hustle and within ourselves, to where we are today having our very own greenhouse growing hydroponic lettuce.
Who knew? Not us, but someone bigger than us certainly knew and He knew it was possible.
We can only imagine what the next 5 years will bring us but as long as we keep showing up and keep doing what we love doing something wonderful and exciting will happen.
Thank you for supporting us and we look forward to your continued support and following us on our journey, we have some exciting plans and we can't wait to show you. :)

A great tasting lettuce comes from great beginnings!

Before we begin the process of growing good quality food, we always select the best seed possible, this will give us the desired outcome of what we're trying to achieve.
Great tasting food!
During the process from germination to seedling to becoming a mature plant we take great care in the process of making sure all of the plants requirements are met; correct amount of watering, lighting and the distance from the lighting to prevent burn or legging, and the most important and crucial part, the correct amount food the lettuce requires with the correct ph balance to prevent nutrient burn.
When all these factors are met, transplanting the immature lettuce after five weeks of careful beginnings it is now ready for our greenhouse production facility.
At which time it'll spend the next four weeks basking in the full sun in 20+ degree temperatures.
At the end our that four week period the lettuce is then ready to begin the harvesting and trimming process, and then delivered to your doorstep the very next day less then 24 hours after being harvested.
We hope you enjoy our lettuce because we take great pride in the work we do to accomplish our goal.

It's back... and better than before!!!

Finally, FINALLY... we have our delicious romaine lettuce back on the menu and it is so good.
It was close to this time last year we ran into some major problems with our hydroponic system, albeit it was more of a trial and error system, but it done us well being able to serve our community with fresh romaine lettuce.
But since then we've been working tirelessly finding the right location to set up even a bigger and better system, and we did it! We were able purchase a large commercial size greenhouse, begin construction, and setup the beginnings of our NEW hydroponics system.
We've learned from our previous endeavors and are building a bigger and better system.
Though we're not nearly done yet, we are able to produce the finest quality of romaine lettuce... it's thick, it's crunchy, it's compact, packed with flavor, and simply delicious.
For the last couple of weeks we've given out some samples of our romaine lettuce and the feedback is very encouraging and positive. The people who got some couldn't wait to have more FRESH and DELICIOUS romaine lettuce.
We're offering a couple of options when purchasing our lettuce... you can purchase it cut, bagged, and sealed or uncut and just as is, the difference being the price.
Either way you're still getting the freshest romaine lettuce on the island... harvested and delivered to your doorstep in less than 24 hours.

Last Saturday's delivery we gave out samples of what you can expect coming back on the menu, and so far you guys are excited for it.
By the way, thanks for your compliments, much appreciated. :)
We'll be giving out more samples again with this week orders also (while supplies last), so if you'd like to know what we have coming back on the menu be sure to have your order into us by Friday evening.
Also, with the warm weather finally coming to us, we're all on the move a little bit more so when we come by your door for delivery and you're out and about leave a cooler on your doorstep for us place your order in. :)

Regularly we get compliments on how great our microgreens look and tastes, so we thought we'd let you in on a little secret.

Growing delicious microgreens can be a little tricky and a delicate balance of ingredients. Some of the ingredients that we use when growing our beautiful microgreens are:

✅ Hand full of Vitamin A, B, C, E, K
✅ Pinch of B3, and B6
✅ Cup of Calcium, Iron, and Potassium
✅ A sprinkle of Manganese, Folic Acid, Magnesium, and Zinc

Just kidding, we only use good quality soil, clean water, lots of light, and a little bit of LOVE! 🌱

Herbs are known to have great medicinal healing powers.

If you had sampled our Baby Basil you know just how aromatic, fresh, and delicious they are; especially with Italian dishes.
But not only are our FRESH Baby Basil delicious to eat they also have great healing powers.
Basil can be used to aid digestion, alleviate coughs and colds, reduce stress and anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial (which can help heal wounds and infections).
The active substance in basil, cinammonic acid, may help with circulation, respiration, and blood sugar.

Studies show that cilantro's greatest health benefits are it's ability to reduced symptoms of cognitive diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and reduce anxiety. The other side of cilantro is that you either love it or not due to its potent flavor.
If you're a lover of cilantro you know just exactly how great it tastes and enhances the flavor, especially with Mexican foods.

Now that warmer, nicer weather is approaching us we're all on the move just a little more enjoying those rays of sunshine... our normal delivery day is Saturday, so if you're going to be out and about before we deliver your greens, be sure to place a cooler on your doorstep for us to place your order in. When we make your delivery we'll be sure to let you know that your order has been delivered safely.

Finding fresh greens at the grocer can be a challenge.

Luckily you found us though... we serve DELICIOUS and FRESH cut greens weekly and deliver in the C.B.S., St. John's, Paradise, and Mt. Pearl areas, FREE!!! Saturday's are our delivery day but if Saturday is an inconvenience we also deliver Monday through Friday for a fee of $5 in the C.B.S. area and $10 outside of C.B.S. To take advantage of our free delivery our deadline for orders are Friday evenings, and delivery during the week is dependent upon available products.

Curious what to what expect when you first bite into microgreens?

Below is a quick and simple breakdown of what you can expect from some of our microgreens:

Pea - classic pea flavor with a hint of sweetness, and crunchy; great for sandwiches, salads and stir fry.
Sunflower - a nice crunch that keeps you wanting more with a mild buttery flavor; excellent for salads and healthy snacks.
Buckwheat - despite it's name it's not related to wheat, naturally gluten-free, zesty; excellent choice for salads.
Broccoli - intense classic broccoli flavor, cornucopia of vitamins and minerals, very beneficially for health ailments; great addition to most meals.
Kale - mild flavor, highly recommended for health ailments; great addition with eggs and bacon :)
Arugula - fan favorite, peppery flavor, packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, awesome for the immune system; a delicious topper for pizza.
