This course is designed for individuals who are interested in learning about winter beekeeping and the do’s and don’ts during the cold months.
In this course, you will learn how to prepare your hive for winter. Requirements of your bees over the winter months. Feeding practices and emergency supplements. How to lessen the chances of winter mortality.
You will also learn about winter equipment for beekeeping, the different types of feed, and how to choose the right one. Additionally, you will learn about protective coverings.
Finally, you will learn about the honey harvesting process, with a hands on honey extracting experience.
