Here is Vins first time off his long line and free roaming. I proofed him utilizing a long line and built up our mutual understanding and trust. The owners have been very consistent with their two new puppies and it shows! Loose Leash Walking Explained....🐾☀️ . . The goal of a loose leash walk is not to restrain your dog by your side, it's not to prevent them from enjoying their surroundings, taking in smells and sights that stimulate their senses and brains.🙅 The goal is not to have their shoulders in contact with our legs, or have their heads turned up looking at us the entire time. 🐕 . Loose leash walks should be enjoyable for both dog and handler, casual and fun.🤸 The dog should walk semi close to your side and keep pace with you, they should be "checking in" with you visually from time to time. This means that they are in tune with what you as the handler are doing at all times. They are aware if you were to stop, they stop, when you move or turn they move or turn with you. The leash remains casually loose and may not pull tight.
