My new favourite way to cook eggs. And it only takes 10 mins max from start to finish.

I don’t cook much asian cuisine but I am going to start making a point to as long as it isn’t high carb.

Really either Chinese or Korean recipes. I just wouldn’t add Boillion in it next time.

Cooks in the steamer or microwave in 6 mins.

Don’t have to mess around with vinegar or stirring water.

I just say this meal has to go down in the books as one of the best ever. My time here in Kelowna for my course thankfully had time so that I could have a meal with a friend from my days living in Calgary.

I think one of the best things about social media is that you can still keep in touch. Kelowna isn’t that far away for us so I think we definitely have to come up here a bit more.

We went to

Amazing food and wine! Was not even on my radar so that is where my foodie friend comes in.

Every summer she and her friends have this epic dinner parties where they pair local wine or spirits with a specially curated menu.

I tell her every year I want to be there for it because it looks like so much fun and both Leanne along with her friends can throw down in the kitchen.

I am mid way through my course. It is way harder than I expected I am oddly not as sore as I thought I would be and today we work on mini horses.

First day of hoof mapping in person and doing a trim.

What a workout that is and it isn't on a live horse yet.

Tomorrow we start for "real".
It is very fascinating learning about how to balance hooves and it is a bit intimidating.

Everyone has a lot of really great questions and our instructor is so knowledgeable.

We will get a lot of practice on live horses and I hope by the time I leave that I am way more confident that I won't get kicked, tossed around or bit by a 1500 lo animal.

Such gorgeous girls.

We had to get up early today to beat the heat. Can’t believe summer is almost over, and incredibly thankful that it hasn’t been in the 40’s.

I haven’t even been paddling but these dogs both have been swimming a lot.

It’s time to start taking advantage of this cooler weather.

Yesterday was Skyes 2nd birthday.

We got a pup cake for her, Gretel also thought it was her birthday as she always gets one too for hers 🥰

She’s slowly improving still a lot to work on would love to widen her social circle and have her stop barking at people when they talk to me when out for a walk.

She somewhat resource guards me. So we need help with that.

Other than that she’s pretty good, her internal clock is always on time and she really likes to make sure we get up on her time.

Never get to sleep in. I am so very thankful for our little fur family.

I am now certified in Equine First Aid.

Basic and Advnaced training, looking forward to also begin my journey to be mentored at Valley Theraputics starting in the fall.

Working towards my CanTRA & CHA instructor certifications as a theraputic riding instructor.

4 year old self would be very proud of this journey. And then I will work towards horse training.

Our little crocodiles have been swimming a lot since summer officially started.

Trying to find quiet watering holes with dogs that don’t cause trouble has been a challenge for us even when we go really early in the morning.

Skye, even snoozes after which is totally out of character for her. She’s been getting more exposure to things that normally she wouldn’t have because of how leash reactive she WAS!

Not perfect yet but she is coming along. This is a big win for us as she wouldn’t not be able to hold her cool very long while out and about.

Gretel has been super with keeping this dog in check, even though it isn’t her job when Skye does come back to me Gretel corrects her as in “F&CK’n listen you little punk!”

She orbits me better stays near by more but still has to be on a long line incase she won’t come back.

Slow and steady.

Skye started pack walks again. Met some nice new doggies and she did ok.

We walked over 5km tonight but over all I did 15km for today.

Training is still a work in progress. I gave her a toy to carry around so she wouldn’t flip.

I hope one day she will be so neutral and nothing will phase her like Gretel. All we wanted was another Gretel and well we got a dragon.

If you have a dog that bolts, a scared dog or a dog you don’t know that you are transporting, this tip is super helpful. Close the handle of the leash in your door. That way you can grab it before ever opening the door. (It also helps keep the dog from moving around a bunch in the car.)

A couple points to clarify:

-ideally an impact resistant crate would be used for transport
-seat belts and tethers are also good when used with harnesses

Unfortunately there are lots of instances where people can’t afford or don’t have these items so a leash on the door is better than nothing.

Clarifying point 2:

This post isn’t necessarily for owners. If you own dogs, yes you should have proper safety equipment. But a lot of people transport dogs for various reasons and cannot always have dog safety equipment on board. People find loose dogs.

People transport for rescues and don’t control what the animal comes with. People foster and are given “supplies” which rarely include seatbelts/tethers and harnesses. And sometimes people have too many dogs to have space for enough crates.

This is just a quick tip for people who don’t have other safety measures. If you have those, great. If this post can save one dog from getting hit by a car then I’m ok with it.

Still hasn’t figured out drop it yet.

Jaws of life can’t get her to drop them. Even offering breakfast doesn’t sway her, I had to leave her in the garage for 10 mins before she decided I was going to leave her alone.
