Piper leads a very active life, so when she's not busy going for walks, hiking, bikejoring, or doing canicross, she likes to try new things! She's brushing up on her swimming skills to add a new form of exercise to her lifestyle and get comfortable and confident in and around water 🐾

Plus, what better way to cool off and burn energy on days when it feels like 43°C out? 🥵

Almost 7 weeks post-TPLO procedure, and Willow is crushing her recovery so far! This happy, energetic girl is working on improving her muscle tone and overall comfort so she can get back to fully enjoying the activities she loves. Keep up the good work Willow! 🐾

At 14 years old, with a combined diagnosis of osteoarthritis and IVDD, Miles has been struggling to get around as easy as he once did. He had his introductory session earlier this week to get him started on decreasing his stiffness, increasing his proprioception, and improving the strength and mobility in his hind legs so he can continue living out his senior years like a king! 🐾

Molly was starting to feel a little left out watching all her friends have fun in the water during their outings together. Today, she had her first swim lesson to work on building her confidence in the water and got to a point where she was swimming and jumping off the steps all on her own! She won't be watching her buddies from the sidelines for too much longer! 🐾

After a tumble down some stairs, Diesel tore his collateral tarsal ligament and spent almost 2 months in a splint. As a result, he lost some muscle mass and has since been reluctant to fully use the injured leg. He was a little trooper during his first session on the underwater treadmill and will be working towards regaining strength and confidently weight bearing again 🐾

Esmay's out here proving that age is just a number! At almost 13 years old, this pretty girl is still actively competing in multiple agility, obedience, fitness, and rally competitions. She is in excellent condition for her age and would like to stay that way for as long as possible, so has started a hydrotherapy program to keep her joints, muscles, and mind all feeling young! 🐾

Bella was pretty proud of herself after her first swim in the pool! This lovely gal is coming for some pre-summer swim lessons to get her some exposure and experience with swimming so that she can join her group of friends in the water when the warmer weather gets here 🐾

Ozzy the Mini Aussie! This little guy had a bit of a tumble a few months ago that temporarily left him unable to use his back legs. He has since gained back his motor control and is now working on improving his proprioception and hind end strength so he can get back to a happy, playful life 🐾

Dash crushed his first session in the pool! This dapper dude may have been born as a tri-pawd, but he certainly does a good job at not letting it slow him down. Not only is Dash working on building some confidence in the water, but swimming will be giving him a great opportunity to exercise and activate muscles he doesn't always get to on land! 🐾

Skipper is getting ready for sailing season by learning how to swim! This adorable lad is a 2-year-old Portuguese Water Dog whose family wants to make sure he is comfortable in the water so he can be safe and have fun during their summer boating excursions. He made everyone so proud during his first session and is well on his way to being a strong, confident swimmer 🐾⛵️

How absolutely precious is Neo's sweet salt-and-pepper face 😍?! Weighing in at over 160 pounds and having just celebrated his 10th birthday, this handsome Great Dane has started attending hydrotherapy to help his body and limbs stay strong and mobile as he continues to age 🐾

Ozz is not letting winter interfere with being able to enjoy an athletic life! This 2-year-old Vizsla has a very busy schedule competing in various agility, rally, obedience, dock-diving, and hydro-dash competitions. He absolutely loves to swim, so is using the water to help with staying fit, keeping strong, and having fun so he doesn't miss a beat! 🐾

Ryleigh is working her way to a slimmer, trimmer figure! By adding an additional source of exercise to her routine and making some changes to her diet, this sweet girl is working on losing a few extra pounds so that she can try to live a long, happy, healthy life! 🐾

Skeena was a superstar during her first hydro session today! As a baby, Skeena sustained an injury to her pelvis that has left her unable to use her hind legs as good as she'd like. She's now 4-months-old and working on building up her strength and correcting her gait so the issue doesn’t hinder her as she continues to grow 🐾

🤓 Fun fact… this mighty little girl was named after the Skeena River in northern BC. A river that is known to run "long, strong, and true"; all traits we are aiming to help her fully live up to! 🌊

Bergy got to celebrate his 2nd birthday with a dip in the pool! This special boy had bilateral hip replacements and a corrective knee surgery last year. So, while his sessions will provide him with some great exercise and boost his confidence in water, they will also help with keeping his hind legs nice and strong so he can continue to enjoy an active lifestyle! 🐾

🎉 Jade breezed through her 100th session here this afternoon! This fiery, energetic girl may have just turned 14, but that doesn't mean she's giving up her "small but mighty" lifestyle anytime soon. She still puts 100% effort into every session and is always up for new challenges. Way to go Jade! 🐾

Remy is not ready to let his mobility issues get the best of him! This handsome dude is 13-years-old with a presumed diagnosis of degenerative myelopathy. By introducing hydrotherapy to his routine, the goal is to improve his strength, coordination, and comfort, while delaying the progression of his condition so he can continue to live a happy, mobile life for as long as possible!

Nellie & Primu are a dynamic Picardy Spaniel duo that have started here for preventative maintenance and strengthening purposes. Nellie has bilateral hip dysplasia and slight arthritis, while Primu has been diagnosed with both hip and elbow dysplasia. Low impact exercise will allow them both to burn energy without placing pressure on their joints, build muscle, and improve their overall comfort 🐾

The water is certainly one of Macie's happy places! This lovely lady breezed through her first hydrotherapy session in the pool this morning. Macie has arthritis in her hind legs, so is putting her love of water to good use to help with alleviating her pain, building muscle, and taking a few pounds off to lessen the pressure on her joints! 🐾

📣Exciting News📣 The time has come to officially announce the newest addition to the Top Dog facility! Since Top Dog celebrated 3 years in business this past May, it was time to do something special and introduce an additional service here to further help our canine friends. So, before the end of 2022, the decision was made to finally acquire something that has been a topic of discussion since opening… New to the Top Dog: Canine Conditioning & Rehabilitation facility is an… 🐾💧UNDERWATER TREADMILL💧🐾 The underwater treadmill will offer an additional method of hydrotherapy here and will be used separately or in collaboration with the pool to accommodate certain conditions and various rehab and fitness goals. Not only would this endeavour not have been possible without a lot of hard work from a lot of different people over the past few months, but it also would not have happened without the tremendous and ongoing support from all of you and the community of veterinarians and animal care providers in the area since opening my doors in 2020! Stay tuned for updates and other big news to be announced in the coming months. Koda definitely had the right idea when it came to beating the heat today! A fun swim in the pool with his chicken, a nice bath, and blow dry left this happy boy feeling lighter, refreshed, and ready for a nap! 🐾☀️

Check out the confidence and progress this little guy has gained over the past few weeks! No more life jacket, eager to swim, and much better extension of his injured leg! Go George go!

Not long after being diagnosed with severe bilateral hip dysplasia, the ball of Oliver's femur dislodged completely from its socket. As a result, he underwent a femoral head osteotomy (FHO) earlier this year to restore mobility and alleviate the pain in his right hind leg. Over the past few months, he has been making great progress during his post-op recovery, with his workload and range of motion continuing to increase both in and out of the water! 🐾
