Do you notice your furry friend scratching their ears more than usual? They might be suffering from ear mites. These tiny parasites (as seen under a microscope in the picture below) can cause discomfort and irritation for our beloved pets. Look out for signs like excessive scratching, head shaking, or dark discharge in the ears.

If you suspect your pet has ear mites, contact us for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Early detection and treatment can help your pet feel better and prevent further complications.🐱

November is referred to as Senior Pet Month β™₯️

It is important to monitor the health of our senior pets. 🐈 🐩

Some animals experience hearing and vision loss, as well as decreased activity levels and mobility issues.

There can be underlying causes such as Osteoarthritis or systemic illness. Often these issues are overlooked, however they can be given supportive treatment for better quality of life.

Enquire about senior screening that is tailored to your pet next time you see your Veterinarian 🩺

From regular veterinary checkups, to diet and exercise, there are many you can do to help your pet as they age. For tips on how you can support your senior pet, read this article: bit.ly/3EYZygO. For more support and advice, speak to your veterinarian.

Copper and Penny were in recently for their first visit and vaccinations πŸˆπŸ’‰

One of the main vaccines that kitten’s receive (FVRCP) is to help prevent and reduce transmission of upper respiratory disease 🦠

If left untreated, can lead to upper respiratory tract infections and other complications. It is not uncommon to see these viruses in the area. 😷

Speak to your veterinarian if your cat needs an update on vaccines, first time vaccinating or if you have further questions. πŸ‘

October is National Pet Wellness Month πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆ Wellness and dental exams are great for preventative care and early detection of illness. Has your pet been to see a veterinarian in the past 6 months to a year?

October is National Pet Wellness Month. Veterinarians recommend regular wellness exams for your pets the same reason your physician and dentist recommend them – if you can detect a problem in its early stages, it's more likely to be treated and resolved with less expense, less difficulty and better success.

As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. https://bit.ly/2Srm7RJ
