To our friends celebrating across the border, we wish you a joyful and safe Thanksgiving! 🦃

While it’s not a Canadian holiday, we know some of you might join in the festivities or host gatherings.

A friendly reminder: Many traditional Thanksgiving foods can be dangerous for pets! Keep an eye out for these hazardous items:

Cooked turkey bones 🦴
Stuffing or dishes with onions, garlic, or chives 🌰
Desserts with chocolate or xylitol 🍫
Alcoholic beverages 🍷

If your pet gets into something they shouldn’t, please contact us at 613-932-4094 or your nearest emergency vet.

🐾 November is Diabetes Awareness Month! 🐾

Did you know our furry friends can be affected by diabetes too? Early detection can make a big difference in managing this condition. Here are some common signs of diabetes in dogs and cats:

🔹 Increased thirst and urination
🔹 Sudden weight loss or gain
🔹 Increased appetite
🔹 Lethargy or decreased activity
🔹 Cloudy eyes (more common in dogs)
🔹 Thinning or poor coat quality

To maintain their Registered Veterinary Technician status, RVTs in Ontario complete Continuing Education (CE) every year. This dedication to growth and staying up-to-date with the latest in veterinary care means that your pets receive the best, most knowledgeable care possible. 🐾💙

Yesterday we welcomed Midmark to the clinic to train staff on our new dental x-ray sensor, dental x-ray positioning tips as well as a dental nerve block lab!

One of the many jobs of our Registered Veterinary Technicians is scrubbing into surgery to assist our veterinarians.

🔪 When RVTs scrub in, they are responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, handing instruments to the vet, holding parts of the patient when needed, and ensuring everything runs smoothly during surgery.
