Many of you know the struggles we had with this bundle of cuteness. She's still here. We celebrate the days because there was a time when she was almost sent packing.

She has displayed extreme food aggression, resulting in vet visits and $$$ in training..

Every. Day. Matters.

Advice always welcomed.
.
She no longer receives treats such as bones, kings, treat dispensing toys, etc. She is leashed and tethered while in the house, or she is crated. I felt bad limiting her "freedom" in the house, but a great trainer said to me, "If you can't control her environment, you must control her or put her to bed. You are saving her life at this point." Seeing as we have two children, we can not control the environment.. cheerios get dropped, chip bags get left out and forgotten. Kids are kids.. even as adults, there have been nights when the plates have been left on the table because we got distracted and started playing. Therefore, we must control Frankie, and the only way to do that is to have her leashed at all times in our home. It sucks, it's hard.. it means a lot of crate time but also a lot of outdoor adventure time. Feeding time looks the same. All three dogs are brought to the garage to feed. Frankie is leashed and the last one to receive her food dish. They all wait for the "okay" and then begin eating. Frankie has an extreme slow feed bowl, so she is always the last one done. We keep the other two from wandering into her space while eating but encourage them to be "around."

Life like this is hard and not at all what I expected when I asked for a Golden Retriever pup. It's unheard of with this breed.. and especially with a pup.

We'd love any and all advice! I'd love for her to be able to wonder and be off leash again at some point, but for now, she's stuck by our side.

My connection with "my dogs" is closer than you'll ever know. I groomed this sweet girl only a handful of times.. but nevertheless, the day after she passed away, I knew in my soul, something was wrong. She was heavy on my mind yesterday and today but I was scared to ask her Mama, as I knew she was sick.. turns out, sweet Jaylee passed away on Tuesday this week.

My heart is heavy tonight. I am so thankful I got to know and pamper her before she passed away ♡

Life is too short for our pets and that is partially why I decided to open a spa for pets. They deserve it too ❤️
