Because of its sweet taste, antifreeze is unfortunately a common pet toxin in the winter. Be sure to look out for antifreeze spills around your car, driveway and garage and clean them up immediately. If you think your pet has ingested antifreeze, you should call your veterinarian or an emergency veterinarian right away.

As people may have more Vitamin D supplements in their home during the winter months, be sure to keep it out of reach of your pets. Vitamin D supplements are toxic to cats and dogs.

Take a look at the most common signs of Vitamin D poisoning (which can sometimes take hours to manifest). If you think your pet has ingested vitamin D, you should take them to your veterinarian or nearest emergency hospital right away.
