IT'S HERE!!! We are officially changing our name to the Mountain Paws Pet Resort! Everything else is staying the same but we have incorporated and wanted to start fresh with our own name! You have already started to see changes in colours and uniforms. We will continue to rollover things like our website and social media accounts but we will redirect everything behind the scenes so it should be a pretty easy transition for our clients! Our Story

The Playpen has been in operation since 2009 and is the Kootenays premiere pet boarding, daycare and grooming spa!

Long term couple James Barnett and Diana Weston purchased the Playpen in March 2018 and have taken a very successful concept to the next level by adding more client care and computerized convenience. Our entire staff are Pet Pros with specializations in training, grooming, and canine first aid to ensure your pets have the very best care possible.

We have almost two acres of play yards, with dogs spending the majority of their day outside in large runs with similar style playmates. If your dog does not enjoy the company of other dogs or is not suitable for group play, we offer private one on one activity sessions with a staff member, in which your dog can go for a walk, play fetch or any other activity they enjoy. Let us know how we can make your dog’s stay the best ever!

We even cater to specialized care needs, whether behavioural or medical. Our private Penthouse suite allows your dog to have 24/7 care and the comfort of sleeping with a human.
