The great Stone Sheep ram.
The first wave of hunters have arrived back from their northern adventure and it looks like it was a great start to the 2024 hunting season.
Congratulations to all the successful hunters and their partners and to those who were unsuccessful. Some chose to not harvest a ram and others weren’t given an opportunity. Congratulations to all of you for your extreme efforts and your desire for adventure.

Brow tines!
A young hunter took this amazing buck in 2021 and what makes it more amazing is the fact the young man had several shed antlers from this deer. In our part of the country, this is very difficult to accomplish as most of the deer populations are transient to the wintering areas. What a gift to be blessed to accomplish what so many only dream about. Congratulations young man.
Everyone enjoy the remainder of the time that we have out in the deer woods. It’s almost over. Make memories for your lifetime and provide food for the table.

Whitetails!!!
Well, the rut is kicking in and in full swing. This spectacular deer is what all of us dream about seeing, let alone being successful in harvesting.
This particular deer measured out at 199 7/8” nontypical!
What an incredible animal.
Hopefully all who read this are successful in their pursuits.

A little something different for the Mule deer enthusiasts. The bucks are starting to walk around looking for a date.
What an exciting time of the year and with some fresh snow on the ground, it doesn’t get much better. Don’t forget to bring your calls along, a bleat call will draw in a doe, who will hopefully be followed by a big fat and tasty buck.

This magnificent Muley buck was taken by a local lady. How blessed she was to take such a beautiful animal. This buck had nearly a seven inch left base circumference and a six and a half inch right base circumference. One of the heaviest based bucks I’ve ever worked with. A true three hundred plus pound animal as well. The photos do not do it justice, the head was as big as any deer that I’ve seen. A real giant.

Hello to all who are/will pursue the great Black Bear. This is one of the most beautiful colour phased Black Bear that I’ve encountered. The photos hardly do it justice.
Enjoy your time hunting in the field whether you are employing the spot and stalk method, pursuing with the hounds or just out observing with a tag in your pack. The great Black Bear deserves our respect. Good hunting.

The snow is falling. As soon as the snow subsides, the hounds will be going full speed. Don’t forget to take your chains and your snowshoes, the snow is getting deep. Woo hoo!
If you have the wall space and have a more limited budget, an open mouth Cougar rug is a nice option and a fine addition to any hunter’s home. Have fun over this Christmas season.
