We are happy to release a brand new product that will influence the gender of your calves.

Through a small alteration and a small additive to your AI or conventional ET program you can now alter the percentage of males vs females born.
There is no decrease in semen quality, there is no decrease in AI conception.

Any straw of semen can be done this way.

Attention:
Due to new CFIA regulations regarding the export of embryos to the UK and the EU, we are encouraging clients to call or email us to discuss this new protocol. The new protocols will not be easy and older embryos will only be grandfathered for a short period of time. We encourage everyone to share and spread this post so that we can reduce the effect of the changes to the best of our abilities.

Selling Embryos Overseas
As this is the time of year, when a lot of embryos are selling, there are some changes to keep in mind when selling embryos for export.

At time, Europe and the UK are requesting Zootechnical certificates for embryo shipments. Other countries may follow suit. The zootechnical certificate contains information on the embryos as well as pedigree and DNA on the matings. There is no standardized Zootechnical certificate so have the buyer supply one in the format that is required from their association as soon as possible. We can fill in the initial information about the embryos but the remaining information must be completed by the breed associations. It requires the pedigree and DNA profiles and may come at a cost from some of the breed associations. We cannot request the information from the association as it needs to be requested by the breeder. Some associations have mandated that the embryos cannot be imported or implanted without the Zootechnical Certificates. If you are talking to a prospective buyer, find out from them, the requirements from their association.

Most countries are requesting Microsatellite DNA Markers as they do not accept SNP tests. If Microsatellite is required, it is the responsibility of the seller to get this done on the donors and sires. Time is of the essence for getting this information gathered as it will delay shipping.

We will continue to assist in coordination and shipping embryos, but ask that if you are selling embryos for export, you acquire this information as soon as possible to avoid shipment delays.
